“That’s what’s holding you back?”

Hades had plans to talk about it with Vada after the wedding. He recognized the opportunity he was being offered. He just needed to make sure it worked for his family and not just himself. There was more to it than money.

“Missed over a year with Allie. Time I’ll never get back with her. That’s not happening again. We’re not waiting to have more kids.” Hades smirked. “I’m knocking up Vada the first chance I get.”

Saint laughed, shaking his head.

“Just trying to keep up with you, brother,” Hades teased.

There was a long stretch of silence. Saint cupped his mouth and glanced toward the door but remained silent. Hades knew his brother well, and it was clear to him Saint was keeping something from him.

“What?”

“If you want to keep up with me” —Saint arched his brow— “then you better have twins.”

Twins? Why would they… Not much caught Hades off guard, but he hadn’t seen this coming.

“Bailey’s pregnant?”

“Eight weeks. She wants to wait until after your wedding to announce it. Doesn’t want to take the spotlight, as she said, off of Vada.”

That didn’t come as a surprise.

Hades grinned. “Congratulations.”

This was the good stuff.

Saint settled back in his chair. “So, how’s Vada doing?”

“Good.”

“And the family stuff?”

“She hasn’t talked about it since the night at your place. Got shit squared away with Allie. And me and Vada. It’s all good.”

Saint slowly nodded. “Maybe too good?”

His brother had always been intuitive. It was almost too good. Vada hadn’t mentioned her family or her mother since the phone incident. She still talked about the wedding but became quiet when the topic shifted to guests.

“I don’t fucking get it, Saint. Her family? Assholes, all of them. And she just can’t fucking let go. I would’ve cut those motherfuckers outta my life years ago.”

Saint shrugged. “But you’re not Vada.”

No, he wasn’t. They were built differently, which was probably why they complimented each other so well.

Marco popped his head in the doorway and tapped the wall.

“I’m ready for you, man.”

Hades stood and started through the office. “Thanks for coming up, Marco. Appreciate it.”

“Yeah, man, glad to do it,” Marco said.

Marco was the best in the business and had done most of Hades’ ink. But being high in demand left Marco with a tight schedule. Hades considered getting another artist to do it, but this tattoo had to be perfect.

In a week, he’d have a ring on his finger and a document in his hand letting the world know Vada was his forever. Today, he’d make it official.

He’d only ever had one name tattooed on his body. In a few hours, there would be two.
