“What’s goin’ on?”

“Cheyenne,” Rourke said before looking away.

“What? She’s here?” His gaze immediately scanned the room.

“Was.”

Trax jumped from the stool. “Was? What the fuck are you talking about?”

Gage cursed, resting his hands on his hips and dropping his chin. “Saw her walk in. She looked pissed seeing you with Nadia, was high tailing it outta here when I stopped her.”

Fuck me! There weren’t many women he was affectionate with besides Meg, but Nadia was one of them. It wasn’t anything more than a few causal fucks in the past and liking that Nadia wasn’t a bitch like most women who hung around the club. She was the only woman he’d banged who never tried to stake claim on his dick. She was a touchy-feely type to begin with and never shied away from Trax. But obviously, it didn’t sit well with Cheyenne. He couldn’t blame her. If some guy was all over her, Trax would have ripped his limbs from his fucking torso.

“Where is she?”

“Well, here’s where it gets a little fucked.” Gage forced a smile and shifted to Rourke, who stood stone-faced, staring at Trax. “Brought her in the back to see Kase.”

Trax stepped forward, bumping his chest against Gage, raging red fury running through his blood. “Without me?”

“I was gonna come get ya, man, but…”

“No fucking buts, asshole, you should have never fucking taken her back to Kase. That was my fucking place, Gage, not yours.” Trax shoved his brother, forcing him to step back. Rourke set his hand on Trax’s chest.

“Told Kase we should get ya, brother. He said no.” Rourke stepped in front of Trax, blocking Gage. “Nobody hurt her, didn’t even touch her, but she was scared. When Kase let her go, she took off through the lot.”

“On foot?”

Rourke solemnly nodded. “Turks moved her car to the back lot like you told him earlier. She went out and panicked when she didn’t see her car and took off.”

Gage came around Rourke’s side. “I was gonna go after her, but Rourke said we should let you handle it. But Trax, man, I never hurt her, and neither did any brother in the room. Wouldn’t let that happen to her, man. I fucking swear on Mick’s grave.”

Trax was enraged. He could barely see anything but drawing blood from a brother, mainly Kase. They’d had a plan. He would explain shit to Cheyenne, he would ease her into looking at the pictures and identifying the guy. It was the plan they’d set up in the meeting earlier. He would be next to her so she wasn’t fucking freaked out, and these assholes fucked it all up. Now, she was running scared.

“She could be at the station, giving a fucking report right now or fucking hit by a car. What the fuck were you thinking?” Trax couldn’t remember the last time he’d been so enraged. He was seconds from making someone pay for this fuck up with his fists.

Trax pushed through Rourke and Gage, making his way to the end hallway. He’d find her. His brothers better fucking hope he found her, or it would be their heads he’d come for. He was just at the exit when Kase stepped out from the back room.

“Need you to get Rourke and Gage.”

Trax halted. Every bone in his body tensed, and he slowly turned his head to Kase. He would have loved nothing more than slamming his fist dead center into Kase’s face. He could almost envision it. He snarled. “Fuck you.”

Kase grabbed his arm. Trax turned fast, and with all his weight and built-up rage, pinned his president against the wall with his forearm against his neck. Kase didn’t so much as flinch, but Trax could see the fury beyond his calm.

“I told you how I wanted it to go down, and you fucking ignored that shit. Fuck you, Kase.”

“Move your fucking arm.” Kase narrowed his gaze.

A whispered curse. “Oh fuck.”

Trax leaned closer, shoving his arm deeper against Kase’s neck. “I did what you wanted, got her down here, and this is how you keep your word to me, brother?” His lips twisted on his last word and spewed with venom.

“Trax, I’ll give you one more warning. Back the fuck up,” Kase said.

Saint appeared next to Trax. “Let him go.”

Trax whipped his head toward his VP. “Can’t believe you let shit go down this way.”

Saint cocked a brow. “She was never in danger from us, and you know it.”
