“And mine, asshole.”

Gage chuckled, and she jerked her gaze at him. He was the only one in the room who saw the humor in this. He widened his eyes, still smiling, and held up his hands in front of his chest. “Look, it was a mistake. Trax is telling ya. If it was me, I woulda kept my mouth shut.” Gage raised his brows. “He didn’t have to, Chey, and you’d be none the wiser, so cut him some slack.”

Cheyenne wasn’t a violent person, but she was seriously considering punching Gage in the throat. Did he really think just because he’d told her now it absolved him of any wrongdoing? She was stunned silent. However, her friend was not.

Macy gasped. “Are you for real, jerkwad? Cut him some slack after he bugged our fucking house?” She snorted in pure disgust. “I can’t even comprehend your level of stupidity. If you think for one second, she’s gonna cut him some slack, you obviously know nothing about women.”

Gage smirked and cocked a brow. “Oh, I know women.” His tone was teasing but held a sharp edge and a sinister snicker. He leaned forward on the couch, aiming his stare at Macy. He reminded Cheyenne of a snake about to strike. “I know so much, I can get a chick to come without her having to fake it.”

“What?” Macy eyed Cheyenne, but she was just as confused at the odd statement. What the hell did orgasms have to do with what had just happened?

“Don’t,” Rourke snapped. The warning was followed by a soft growl meant only for Gage, Cheyenne thought. But Gage didn’t heed the warning. He angled up from the couch and tilted his head, staring straight at Macy.

“Sweetheart, any man who makes ya fake it isn’t really a man.” He winked. “Though I will say, you gave a good performance, but being an expert on the moaning of a women during a real orgasm, I call bullshit on yours.”

Cheyenne gasped. Oh God, no. She glanced quickly at Macy, who stood motionless, not saying a word.

“Shut the fuck up, Gage,” Rourke snarled. There was a hint of protectiveness in the command, which shocked Cheyenne, but she was oddly thankful. Rourke stood towering over Gage, who kept the smirk planted on his lips.

“What? Just sayin’.” He chuckled.

Macy slowly turned around and walked past, her crimson cheeks blazing. Cheyenne couldn’t be sure if it was from anger or embarrassment. Either way, Macy was done, and so was Cheyenne. She waited for her to slam her door, and then she turned on the men.

“What the hell is wrong with you? Why would you do that? It wasn’t bad enough you bug our place, invade our privacy, but then to throw it in her face?”

Gage appeared almost surprised and eyed the guys before furrowing his brows. “What?”

“Oh, my God, what do ya mean, what?” She shook with rage. “You completely embarrassed her.”

Gage flinched and glanced at the other men. “I was telling her the truth. She deserves better than some douche who can’t make her come.”

Cheyenne released a disgusted laugh. “Really? Is that how you saw it play out ’cause I didn’t. You are an asshole, a complete and utter fucking jerkoff. Get out!”

“Fuck,” Rourke snapped as he dragged his hand down his face. At least she wasn’t the only one in the room who’d seen this happen. He sighed and scowled at Cheyenne. “He didn’t mean it the way she took it. Tell her that.” He gripped Gage’s shoulder and pushed him forward toward the door but turned around halfway, glancing over at Cheyenne. “Tell her he’s sorry.”

“Bro, I didn’t mean it, ya know what…”

“Gage, not one more fucking word. Shut up.” Rourke shoved Gage out the door and let it slam behind him. It now left Trax and Cheyenne alone.

“You too, go.” She pointed to the door.

He released an aggravated breath. “I know you’re pissed, but let me explain.”

She raised her brows. “You already did. You thought I was holding out, right? Thought I wasn’t giving you everything I knew, so you said who the fuck cares about her privacy.”

“Babe—”

She pointed her finger. “No. Well, you got what ya wanted, right, so get out.” She jerked her head toward the door. “Go.”

“It wasn’t my idea. Fuck, you think I wanted this?” He threw his hands into the air. “It was a club decision, not mine.”

She released a bitter laugh. “Yeah, and they outrank me, I know.”

His brows furrowed, and he stepped forward. The comment definitely struck him, but she noticed he didn’t deny it.

“I’m sorry.”

“I don’t care. Leave.”
