She sauntered back to where Cheyenne stood. She rested her elbows on the bar, leaning forward and displaying her cleavage. “Yeah, sweetie?”

“Thanks for stepping in with that guy.” Cheyenne awkwardly smiled. “But, uh…we broke up.”

Nadia laughed. Cheyenne furrowed her brows.

“No, seriously. Last week.”

Nadia sobered up and nodded with a serene smile. “I’m sure Trax would disagree. In fact, I’d bet my next paycheck if Trax had seen Grain’s hands on you, this whole place would be a battle zone.” She pushed the bottle toward Cheyenne. “Drink up and stay close to the bar where I can watch ya ’til Trax gets here.” She winked and then turned and headed down to the other end of the bar.

Cheyenne watched her closely, as did most of the people at the bar. She felt a nudge on her arm, and she turned to Macy.

“You heard her, he’s not here yet. So stop worrying about him being with someone else and let’s have fun.”

Cheyenne raised her brows. “Fun? This coming from the girl who was trying to talk me out of coming an hour ago?”

Macy shrugged and chuckled. “Maybe I was wrong.” She glanced over her shoulder, smiling while scanning the crowds of people behind them. “Have you seen some of these guys? I mean, they’re hot. Like really hot. And they probably know their way around a woman’s body.”

What the hell is she talking about?

Macy sighed, swiveling in her seat, and grabbed her beer. “I could draw Jason a map, and he still wouldn’t be able to find my clit.” Macy whipped her toward Cheyenne and frowned. “Do you know how exhausting it is to have to fake it?”

Cheyenne giggled. “No, can’t say I do.” It was the glorious truth.

Macy rolled her eyes and stuck up her middle finger with a small smile playing on her lips. At least some tension between them had dissolved. It felt good to laugh together. It had been too long. Cheyenne lifted her beer, taking a sip.

Where is he?

****

“Where ya headed?”

Trax stopped and turned to face Gage, who had his arm slung over the shoulders of one of the regular girls. Rourke stood off to the side, smoking a cigarette.

“Beer run?”

“Yeah. Will this run take you down Northside?” Gage smirked.

It was no secret, though Trax did his best to be discreet, he was not letting go of Cheyenne. They were his brothers, they knew him well, and every night when he took off, they knew exactly where he was going. He shoved his hands into his pockets and remained silent.

“Not giving up, huh?” Gage asked, knowing the answer before Trax responded.

“Nope.” Trax smiled, and Rourke shook his head, but when he turned, he saw the semblance of a smile from his friend.

“Go get her, man,” Gage said right before he grabbed the girl’s ass and took her in for an aggressive kiss. It didn’t take a genius to figure out Gage would have this woman in his bed, ass up, in ten minutes.

He stalked down the alley, passing members of the visiting club. Chin lifts and head nods of acknowledgment was all he got, along with a contact high from all the weed being smoked in the lot. He breached the front of the house and rounded the corner, heading toward his bike.

“Trax.”

He turned when he heard his name. He gazed around the crowd, searching for the source. Dobbs, a brother of his, came down the steps toward him.

“Hey, man, you going for a ride?”

“Beer. Ya need something?”

He brought his smoke up to his lips and puffed a cloud, turning back to the door and then at Trax. “No, I’m good. Want me to watch your girl while you’re gone?”

Trax flinched. “What?”
