“This is Isla and Berkeley,” Autumn introduces, pointing to the blonde at the table that I haven’t met yet.

“It’s nice to meet you, Juliet. I’m Kaenan Altman’s girlfriend. We’re so excited to have a new girl to add to our group.”

Her sincere smiles and softer voice give her a sweetness about her.

She seems just as genuine to have a new member as Autumn did when she snagged me downstairs and brought me up.

“And this is Berkeley.” Isla introduces the little girl with wild deep chocolate curls.

Isla bounces the cutest toddler on her lap.

“Berk is the rowdiest one of the bunch,” Penelope teases.

“Hi Berkeley,” I say back.

“And this is Tessa,” Autumn introduces the last of the four women sitting at the table.

Tessa’s dark brown hair frames her face as she smiles back at me and reaches her hand out to shake mine.

“I heard you impressed everyone at the meeting yesterday,” Tessa says.

“I did?” I ask, a little surprised that I was anything worth discussing.

“Your presentation was fantastic. Marjorie loved it,” Penelope chimes in, handing Berkeley a cupcake that she must have gotten from the buffet table.

“Really?” I ask, feeling a little more confident about my presentation than I did before.

“You’re going to make a great addition to the team and Tessa have a media event we’ll need help with so we should make plans to meet next week before you leave,” Autumn says.

“Before I leave for what?” I ask.

“We figured you're going to Vancouver with Ryker for the annual charity hockey tournament he does every year,” Penelope says.

A charity event? In Vancouver?

“Oh… right, sure,” I say, though not convincing.

“We’ll make plans to meet up before you go,” Tessa nods.

“Ryker just scored!” someone yells nearby.

We all turn just in time to see Ryker, skate around the goal.

I walk up to the window and I swear he looks up at the same second. He sends up a little wave and my heart jumps.

“Ryker’s such a great guy. I’m glad he’s finally settling down,” Autumn says.

“Yeah and not with Amelia… she was a bitch—” Tessa starts.

“Tessa!” Autumn says.

“Oh right. Sorry, Juliet,” Tessa says.

Amelia?

Who’s Amelia?
