“She'll love you. She loves everyone. But mostly she's going to love you because you’re the one who got me down on one knee.”

Juliet grins as we walk down the sidewalk. It’s the first time I’ve seen a real smile since we walked into Frank’s office and I’m happy to see it back.

“I should prepare you for the offspring question. While we're there, it's probably all my mom will talk about,” I say. “And you'll get to meet my brothers and my sister, along with my niece and nephews, who are all great.”

I consider warning her about my sister. She's the hardest sell. But my sister’s smart and she’s going to see that Juliet is different to other women I’ve dated in the past.

“Do you need any help with moving your stuff?”

“My SUV has plenty of room in the back. I’ll be able to get it all in one trip.”

“Why an SUV?” I ask.

I would have pegged Juliet for driving a sleek two-door BMW instead of the large SUV that she has to climb into in heels.

“Party planning requires a lot of décor and supplies. It’s just easier to have my own form of transportation for balloons and anything else I need that isn’t getting delivered by the rental company.”

“I can lend a hand with setting up at any of your events, whether it's bringing in a bouncy house or hanging decorations up high," I offer.

We’re only a block away from the parking garage as I see it come into view.

“Thank you, Ryker. I appreciate that. I’ll keep that in mind for the next birthday party I do. Do you do clown impressions?” she asks.

I glance over to find a smirk across her lips. She’s teasing me and that humor of hers has me thinking that the next two years are going work out just fine.

Chapter Twelve

Ryker

Excitement pulsates through me unexpectedly.

I grab her key for the penthouse and her parking permit for her spot downstairs off the kitchen island and head out my door.

The ride down the elevator is quick and I walk through the garage to the gated entry. I see her headlights waiting on the other side of the garage gate. I scan her new parking permit and the gates begin to slide open to allow her access.

It works… good.

I want to make sure that everything is in working order when she’s here. I don't want Juliet to have any issues accessing the apartment building, especially when I'm out of town.

I walk up to the passenger side door and she hits the unlock button to let me in.

“It's official,” I say, putting her parking permit lanyard over her rearview mirror.

It swings back and forth and she stares at it for a second but then moves through the gate since it has a timer and it’s already beeping a warning that it will close soon.

I point out turn-by-turn directions through the underground parking garage to her new parking spot. The three penthouses on the top floor have premium parking right next to the elevator.

“Right here.” I point at the spot closest to the elevator. “This is your spot now.”

“This is my spot? Then where is yours?” she asks.

I point to the black Maserati parked next to her.

“I’m parked to the left of you.”

We both get out of the SUV and head to the back. She clicks a button, and the automatic open starts to lift the back gate.

She said she can fit a lot in the back and she wasn’t kidding. The back seat of her SUV is packed full.
