“Let’s just say that when it comes to Death’s Head,” Wyatt said, “everyone involved would prefer it if we were the ones who handled it.”

“There are some things the cops don’t want to know,” Griz added.

“Is this some weird MC criminal stuff I don’t want to know about?” Becca said.

“Probably,” Wyatt said.

“Not that it matters much,” Griz said. “With just a vehicle description and nothing else to go on, we’ll never find this guy. If we had a license plate number or a description, maybe…”

“Oh, I got his license plate,” Becca said, and then immediately bit her lip. “Gee, I really wish I wouldn’t have said that out loud.”

“You got his license plate number?” Wyatt said.

“I, uh…”

“Didn’t you say you saw his neck tattoo?” Griz said. “That’s why you came to get us, right?”

“Wait, did you get a good look at him?” Wyatt said. “Becca.”

Becca threw her hands up in the air. “Yes, yes, Biker Boys. I got a good look at him. He stuck his head out of the window to yell at me and his ugly face is like, burned into my memory.”

“You would know him again if you saw him?” Wyatt said.

“Unfortunately.”

“And the license plate?”

She rolled her eyes. “I got it when I saw him littering. It was a reflex.”

“Becca, you need to tell us,” Wyatt said.

“Tell you? Not the cops?”

“No, tell us,” Griz said. “We’ll take care of it.”

Becca looked back and forth between Griz and Wyatt. “Oh, no, no, no. You guys are going to do something crazy and I don’t want any part of it.”

“Becca,” Wyatt said.

“My life is already in ruins. You understand? I had a nuclear bomb drop on my life and I need something normal, some normal shit to happen for a while so I can figure myself out.”

“Becca.”

“Don’t Becca me, Wyatt,” Becca said. “You guys want to go after this guy and murder him or something and I won’t have any part of that. I am not going to take part in a conspiracy to commit murder.”

“You saw what he just did,” Wyatt said.

“Yeah. I did,” Becca said. “And it was awful. And he should go to prison for it. Prison.”

“These guys don’t care about prison,” Griz said.

“I doubt that very much.”

“Half their gang is in prison,” Wyatt explained. “They go to prison, all their friends are there. Not to mention, they’re dialed in with the prisons.”

Becca shook her head. “What does that mean, dialed in?”

“It means they’ve paid off who they need to pay off to get special treatment,” Griz said.
