My eyes were glued to the sight of Tori’s swollen lips wrapped around my cock. I pulled out of her mouth, eliciting a frustratedgroan from her. My senses were overwhelmed by the scent of her arousal, and I needed to taste her now more than ever.

“Come here,” I growled, pulling Tori up and positioning her over my face. “Sit.”

She didn’t argue and started moaning as I eagerly licked her slit, sucked on her clit, and plunged my tongue into her hot, wet core.

“Ridge! Oh, God!” she cried out, riding my tongue, mouth, and even my nose. The taste of her was intoxicating, and both my wolf and I reveled in how responsive our mate was to our touch. Her moans filled the room as she came hard, her body trembling with pleasure.

Not bothering to wait for her orgasm to subside, I flipped her onto the bed, face down, and plunged deep inside her.

Tori screamed into the pillow. “Fuck, yes!” Her fingers clenched the bedspread as I pumped hard and fast into her, making the bed frame bang against the wall.

Sweat pooled down my back as her pussy walls clenched even tighter around me with each thrust. I moved my hand around her hip, between her body and the bed, to rub and circle her clit, causing her to erupt and orgasm again.

“Don’t stop,” she begged.

With a final, powerful thrust, I slammed deep into her, releasing my seed as far inside her as I could. The intense pleasure of our union left us both panting and spent, and our bodies pressed intimately together in the aftermath of our passionate storm.

As we lay there, I lowered my lips to Tori’s spine, kissing my way up while she tried to catch her breath. When I made it to her neck, I gently pulled out of her, and we both moaned at the loss of contact. Exhausted, I lay down next to her, our breathing heavy and labored.

“Whoa, Alpha Blackwood. Just whoa.” A lazy smile played on her lips as she lightly slapped my chest. “I’m relaxed now.”

I laughed and grabbed her hand, placing a tender kiss on her palm. After a few moments, I reached for her and pulled her to my side, cuddling her against my chest. Her body fit perfectly against mine.

As we lay there, Tori quietly said something that pleasantly surprised me. “Everything I heard from Margo and Clawson about being fully mated and claimed sounds wonderful—a little odd, but wonderful. I mean, belonging so perfectly with someone else like that…it just seems too good to be true. I’m not sure relationships can be that perfect.” She sighed. “And with how my life has been these past years, I have trouble imagining that I could stay with you in any one place long-term. If the hunters weren’t converging on Blackwood Creek, and if we manage to defeat the dark witch and protect the other shifters…I still wouldn’t be sure where to go from there.”

I traced the curve of her hip. “I understand that you’ve been in survival mode for so long that relying on someone else and having a normal life must seem unreal to you.” My heart ached for her and the hardships she’d faced. “But without hunters on your tail, you’d be free to go wherever you want. You seem to be doing better with your feral side effects, too, which is promising.”

She nodded against me.

“I know you’re not completely on the same page as your inner wolf yet, but this progress is definitely more than you hoped for.”

We lay together in companionable silence, my fingers tracing patterns over the soft skin of her back. I considered Tori’s progress toward accepting the idea of being fated mates, though I resolved not to bring it up unless she did first.

To my surprise, Tori buried her head in my neck, blushing from head to toe. “I’ve just remembered—I bumped into the Magpies on my way home from seeing Margo and Clawson.”

“Why has that got you blushing from your little toes all the way up to the roots of your hair?” I was intrigued. It took a lot to make Tori blush, so this had to be good.

“I ended up talking wedding plans with them. They, um, saw me speaking with Brett Longtail…”

At the mention of his name, I tensed.

“Stop, Ridge,” Tori chided me. “You know you have nothing to worry about. He’s nothing compared to you.”

And just like that, I relaxed. I knew I could trust Tori. Brett fucking Longtail, not so much, but Tori’s voice soothed my wolf.

“Ridge, please. I just bumped into him, then the Magpies came along, and I had to intercept to stop the gossip I could see forming in their eyes. Oh, God.” She groaned into my neck. “It was so embarrassing. I couldn’t stop talking about how fairytale-ish our wedding will be.” She laughed. “What if I dress as Little Red Riding Hood, and you can be the Big Bad Wolf?”

Her laughter was contagious, and I chuckled at the image. “Whatever makes you happy, Tori.” I brushed her hair back and caressed her cheek. “As long as we’re together and making that commitment to each other, you can wear whatever you want.”

“I wasn’t trying to start a wedding planning session.” Her voice was muffled against my chest. “I was just telling you about the Magpies and how we set a totally arbitrary date for this fake wedding. It doesn’t matter, anyway.”

Pulling back, I looked down at her. “Nothing about this is arbitrary to me, and I don’t want it to be fake. I’d marry you tomorrow if that’s what you wanted.”

Her cheeks flushed a deep red, and she mumbled, “You’re so cheesy.” Nonetheless, she cuddled closer to me.

As Tori drifted off to sleep, I picked her up and tucked her under the covers. Turning off the lights, I crawled back into bed and wrapped my body around hers, my wolf letting out a contented sigh.

Before closing my eyes, I decided I would find a better way to make Tori see how serious I was about us. She deserved to know the depth of my feelings for her, and I would not rest until she understood that our bond was no mere fluke of fate.
