“Now that was the response I was waiting for,” Aunt Kassie laughed behind us.

Jo, Meli, James and Zi were running up to us when we approached the crowd.

“Thank goddess you’re alright! We were going crazy.” Zi hugged Evie, and I noticed the way James seemed to move around her. Not quite touching her, but as close as he could without doing so.

‘Are you two...?’ I asked via mind-link.

‘Yes, but she wants to take it slow,’ he answered, his sadness dripping from each word.

‘She’s worth it,’ I reminded him.

‘I know. I have no intention of letting them get away.’ I nodded at his words. When Zi let Evie go, Evie cuddled back into me, and I wrapped my arm around her.

“What’s going on here? Are you guys together now?” Jo asked, excitement clear in his voice.

“Evie’s my mate,” I said, smiling down at her.

“Wait, how the fuck is that true? I thought you said she wasn’t?” Jo asked while James picked his jaw off the floor, and Zi looked smug for some reason.

"I’m not explaining this to everyone for you, so you better get to talking.” I looked down at her again pointedly.

“Ummm, how about after the run? We don’t want to keep everyone waiting,” Evie blushed. I shook my head and chuckled, and we walked over to Uncle Helios, who was smiling from ear to ear at us.

“You guys can’t keep anything to yourselves to save your life.” I laughed, and Aunt Kassie had the decency to blush.

“Listen, we’ve had very little to celebrate. We need things like Cecilia’s pregnancy and you boys finding your mates to get us through all of this with our sanity intact. As it is, we have a long night ahead figuring out who, and how they got the drop on you both,” Uncle Seb defended, also blushing slightly.

We reached Uncle Helios at the front, and he pulled me into a hug.

“Give them the good news. This is the perfect time,” he suggested when he pulled back.

‘Are you okay if I let the packs know you’re my mate before the run?’ I asked Evie, hoping she’d say yes because I wanted nothing more than to scream it at the top of my lungs. Evie paled a little before giving me a shy nod. Gaining her approval, I moved to stand at the front of the three packs.

“I would like to make an announcement before we run,” I started and held my hand out toward Evie. She took it, and I pulled her up to my side. “I would like to let you know that after seven years of standing under the Moon Goddess’ sacred light, she has finally blessed me with my mate. Let me introduce you to Crescent Moon’s future Luna, Everly Roswell. She’s already an integral part of our pack, heading the new Technology and Software Division specializing in supernatural technology at Salonen Industries. I can’t begin to tell you how lucky and blessed I feel that the Moon Goddess paired me with such an incredible, smart, and kind mate,” I said, looking down at her with all the love and pride I was feeling. “Even if she did make me wait this long for her,” I grumbled under my breath, making the people that were within earshot chuckle. The three packs howled happily, and I could see what Uncle Seb meant about needing this type of news to get through everything. The packs looked more relaxed, more themselves.

Evie and I shifted after putting on tear-away clothes. New and non-marked mates tended to be territorial, and I didn’t want to scare anyone with my growls if I saw men looking at her. I was having enough of a hard time keeping myself in check when all I wanted was to put her over my shoulder and take her back to my room. The only thing that was stopping me was the knowledge that Tenoch and Tozi had been waiting just as long as we had to feel the bond with each other, and they deserved this moment with the pack.

Tozi was a long-haired white wolf with a grey undercoat. She was a beautiful wolf under any circumstances, but right now, under the full moon, she looked ethereal, like an angel. She barked happily when she saw Tenoch standing proudly and regally like the alpha wolf that he was. It was too bad that his tail was betraying him, wagging so quickly, I was afraid we might take off into the air by the ass like a helicopter.

Tozi trotted over to us, nuzzling Tenoch’s muzzle affectionately. I could feel the happiness in Tenoch flowing through us, finally free to show his affection for her. Evie had me wrapped around her finger since we were children, and Tenoch shared that same emotion from the moment he’d met Tozi. It was so obvious now that we were meant to be theirs.

We took off running with the packs behind Uncle Helios and Aunt Nat, running next to David and Areli. Regardless of how many wolves were running around us, whether it was ten or a hundred, it was like no one existed but us. I allowed Tenoch full control while he played with our mate. They nipped and brushed against each other as they ran, completely unaware of anything around us.

As the run came to an end, and we were approaching the gatherings, Evie reached out to me, ‘Come with us.’

Tenoch followed happily behind her to the little cliffs along the river. He sat down next to her, his tail wagging with curiosity and happiness to be so close to our mate.

‘Tozi’s in her feelings a little. She just wanted to spend some time with Tenoch,’ Evie explained. Tenoch’s tail wagged furiously, and he rubbed his side to hers before lying down near the edge. When Tozi joined him, Tenoch laid his head on top of hers, and they simply basked in their connection. Once we marked each other, they would be able to talk through our connection, but for now, they seemed to be enjoying the quietness of their bond and company.

I felt the tug of a mind-link while I let Tenoch spend time with our mate, and I answered, knowing it was my twin.

‘Thank Goddess you answered! I was freaking out. I tried getting ahold of you earlier, but it was like you weren’t there. I had to call Mom, and she couldn’t find you. Are you okay?’ she rushed out.

‘I’m more than okay. It’s her, Bells. Evie is my mate,’ I said, watching the moon reflected on the river.

‘Ha! I knew it. I always knew it! You were always within her gravitational circle when we grew up. Always there to make sure nothing hurt her. How she managed to hide that is another matter. What the fuck, Cory? It’s been six years. Didn’t you ever try to do a full moon with her?’

‘Don’t get me started, Bells. She skipped all of them because she thought she wouldn’t be my mate and didn’t want to see me find mine.’
