‘Oh naughty, silly girl. I hope you’re planning on punishing her.’ Bell’s mischievous voice flowed into my head. She was an alpha wolf, too. She knew what that thought did to us.

‘I’ve already warned her. I have seven years to make up for.’

‘Six. She wasn’t nineteen when we were.’

‘Dully noted.’ I rolled my eyes.

‘Anyway, that couldn’t have been the reason my mind-link didn’t connect. You weren’t blocking it. What happened?’

‘We got darted with tranquilizers and taken to an old prison we didn’t know existed within Guardian Moon. We were chained with silver, so Tenoch was suppressed. We’re still trying to figure out what happened, but it just further confirms the existence of a traitor within the packs.’

‘Fuck. How did you get out?’ she asked.

‘Evie’s double-jointed. She got out of the silver chains.’

Bells’ laugh was loud. ‘I totally forgot about that. I bet those assholes are scratching their heads, wondering how their plan got foiled.’

‘Pretty much,’ I chuckled.

‘So, what are you doing talking to your sister? Shouldn’t you be ravaging your mate right now?’

‘We just got done with the full moon run, Bells.’ I rolled my eyes at my sister again.

‘Well, I’m going to let you go, so you better have her marked, mated, and with pup by the time I get back down there.’

If I had been in human form, I would have choked on air. Instead, Tenoch just purred at her words.

‘You’re coming back in two weeks.’

‘Yep. So get to it.’ She laughed before she broke the mind-link.

Evie and I let Tozi and Tenoch continue to cuddle together for a few more moments. My plan was to take us home and finally spend some alone time with my mate.

‘Ready to head back?’ I asked.

‘Yes.’ Evie’s shy response came through. Tozi purred, and both wolves stood up and began running toward Crescent Moon along the edge of the river. They were still playing, so Tenoch didn’t expect Tozi to stop so suddenly and barreled into her, toppling both wolves down the side into the riverbank.

‘Shit, are you alright?’ I asked when we landed on top of her with a yelp. Tenoch scrambled away from her and checked her for injuries, but she simply licked his cheek and shook it off.

‘We’re fine, but we need to go back to the forest. To that spot that we were taken,’ Evie said with some urgency.

‘What? Why?’

‘The tablet. I had a tablet with me. It has access to the pack’s security.’

When we arrived at the location, we found nothing and immediately called a meeting with the ranked members of the three packs and Evergreen to meet at Guardian Moon. We found most were already waiting as we ran up to the entrance of the pack house.

“Dad, disable all access to the systems to Tablet 00513 and check if anyone has used it in the last three hours.” Evie took charge right away.

“What’s going on?” Evergreen asked but was already working away on his laptop.

“I had a tablet with me when we got kidnapped. Cory and I just went to check, and it’s not where I dropped it. It was set up for my biometrics, but it’s been hours. If they had a decent hacker, they can crack it.”

Evergreen sat down while everyone paced around, waiting to see if we’d been compromised. Evie rested against my chest as we stood against the wall.

“It looks like there were three attempts to get in. It locked and shut down after the third try. It’s been off since then.” Evergreen finally reported.

“Remote flash it, please. Let’s not give them any openings,” Evie instructed. A small smile showed up on her father’s face.
