“Good news and bad,” Evergreen answered, furrowing his brows. “I was able to follow the path of whoever attacked you both,” he said, and I sat up straighter. “But not once was he or she ever in the frame. On most cameras, we see an elbow or a foot passing, but that’s about it. The most we got was the shadow of a person in a hoodie.” he finished and I slumped back in my chair.
“How long were you able to track him?” Evie asked. She and her dad shared some sort of look before Evergreen smiled. It seemed they were both thinking the same thing, and I waited patiently for them to tell us non-geniuses what that was.
“From the moment Cory left to check on the patrols to shortly before you mind-linked us.”
“That’s good, then,” Evie said.
“Care to enlighten us simple folk?” Jo asked.
“The more data points we have, the more we can learn from them,” Evergreen explained.
“But we can’t see them,” I stated the obvious.
