Not yet.

She gripped him tight, still deep within her, and rolled her hips.

His breath shuddered against her nape.

Their magics flowed back and forth, his boosting hers so that the discomfort in her wounded shoulder, hip and thigh subsided.

She pumped him within her sensitive channel, ensuring he was as hard as he had been moments before.

Easing off of his tip, she turned around on her knees, pulling him up so that he met her lips.

She pulled the rest of her clothes off, then helped him out of his, letting them fall haphazardly around them.

Her arms encircled his broad shoulders. He dipped his head to taste her breasts, his tongue laving one, then the other. She gently pushed him back against the headboard, straddling his hips.

With firm hands encircling her waist, he leaned forward, kissing and licking her belly. His hands slid up her back. She reveled in the feel of his arms around her as she settled down to reclaim him.

… to claim him.

Aligned with his tip, she took him in, filling and expanding her sensitive channel with a soft gasp.

He throbbed against her sweet spot, making her moan.

When she caught her breath, she caressed his jaw and urged him to look into her face.

“I didn’t mean for this to happen either, Sten. But it is.”

She really hadn’t.

His gaze flicked to the bite mark that stung her previously uninjured shoulder. He’d initiated the bonding. An ancient rite, through a moment of instinct.

For some, the bond happens without the rites—a spontaneous act of fate driven by their most primal selves.

For others, it’s a conscious choice.

It seemed that for them, that it was a bit of both.

He reached for her face, his beautiful grey eyes fluttering over her features. “I didn’t mean for it, either, but I don’t regret it. I told you that I’m yours.”

She nodded between his palms, understanding it deeply now. Her dragon rose to the surface within her again.

Claim him.

She clenched him deep within her as she watched the desire change his features.

Still, she hesitated.

What happens if I do? Everything is so frikking complicated.

His growl rumbled through his chest, making his entire body vibrate, and hers too.

She closed her eyes, bracing her hands on his shoulders, writhing atop him, allowing her body to hush her mind.

Her breath came fast as she ascended again. Opening her eyes, she looked down into his taut face, watching her with parted lips.

Holding his steady gaze, she moved faster.

“You’re so beautiful,” he breathed. His brow furrowed as his arms enveloped her waist, supporting her movement.
