“There’s more coming,” Odson grunted, withdrawing his clothing from the pack.

Marli averted her gaze as he dressed, watching for who else had followed.

Her breath caught as a glittering mist swirled into the hangar and dissipated, leaving a tall, handsome, fully dressed man in its place.

“That’s Bayn Long, an old buddy of mine.” Carson said. “Air dragon shifter from the east, though he currently resides in Toronto.”

“Why does he get to keep his clothes when he shifts?” Marli frowned.

Carson shrugged.

“Something to do with air magic,” Odson grumbled.

“He can transport others with him too, but I opted for the plane,” Carson winked at Marli.

“That’s because Carson’s a chicken shit when it comes to air magic. I can’t believe you’d rather get into a human tin can than fly with me.”

Before Carson could respond, three more dragons arrived; familiar ones, from Aeleftheria.

Giddiness filled Marli’s heart, catching her breath.

A giggle escaped her as Kymri stepped up beside her, holding a leather satchel with Aeleftheria’s insignia. “Jori wanted to ensure that Aeleftheria was well represented at the funeral. For obvious reasons, the queen couldn’t be here.”

“Looks like I missed everything.” Marli whined.

Kymri nodded, squeezing Marli’s hand. “We’ll catch you up once everyone is here.”

“I don’t see your mother.”

“Kolina had something important she needed to do after ensuring we were all safe. She promised she’d be back before the baby is born.” Kymri handed the satchel to Red.

“Thanks for your warning, by the way.” Red said to Marli, clothes in hand. She passed the satchel off to Zayli and Neliah.

“We were able to rally the troops just in time to save my cousin’s ass and keep the males off the main island.”

Marli sucked in a breath, looking at Kymri. “What the fuck happened? Why did you need saving…again? I should have been there with you.”

Kymri scowled at Zayli.

Zayli shrugged and sauntered further into the hangar. “Sten.”

Marli spun around at the tone of her voice.

“Zayli,” Sten nodded, his expression less than welcoming.

“We should… catch up, later. It’s been a long time.”

Sten’s gaze slid to Marli.

Zayli glanced over her shoulder, following Sten’s line of sight. She huffed, with a knowing grin and a shake of her head.

Marli bristled, eyes narrowing on Sten.

Jori approached, sliding a hand across Kymri’s shoulders. “Everyone’s here. Let’s catch up in the Council Room.”

Eamerson had already arranged for refreshments. He waited for everyone to settle around the large, round oak table that one of the males had made at his request.

“Well, we just had a crazy couple of days. What’s been going on here?” Jori directed his question at Eamerson, but also looked to Marli and Stenlen.
