He smiled. “I will show you the recreation area, Miss Lem.”

“Kana, please.” She smiled at him, and he looked dazed.

“Kana. This way. I will give you a tour.” He offered his arm, and she took it the same way Elioth had taught her.

They began a tour of the airship.

Chapter Nine

It was easier to sit as they passed over the mountains and turned south. Kana watched the view that she had only seen from Kabyl’s claws. “That’s lovely.”

Koa had been working on something, and he looked up. “It is. Surprisingly, the ice fields have their charms, and the glacier was breathtaking.”

She smiled. “Yeah. The cold isn’t something that draws me, but the views are incredible.”

He nodded. “Have you travelled much?”

“Breaker City to the capital and the capital to the village and now off to wherever you are taking me.” Kana remembered something. “Do you have my file?”

Koa met her gaze. “I do. How long since you entered this world?”

“Uh, I think it has been about four months, maybe six.”

“What was life before that?”

“Voices telling me what I need to know to get along in society. It was a recorded track that was created for our education.” She smiled. “Eltrinia would also talk to us, so that was nice as well.”

“So, it is true. You are a clone.” He said it as if he didn’t believe it.

“I am. My genetic makeup was taken from a variety of samples in an effort to create a female with power but under the control of those nutjobs.” Kana smiled. “When my sisters emerge, they will choose names, and their power will manifest.”

“So, there are others?”

“Sure. Both learning and waiting but guarded by a very deadly dragon. They are perfectly safe until they can remember what they were.”

“What do you mean by that?”

“I have more knowledge than I should, considering my time in the world.”

Koa frowned. “So, you are really not what you seem?”

“I am exactly what I seem. My body grew for over two and a half decades, but I had no exposure to the outside world. I was given information but no context. I had no idea how to apply it to the outside world. That is what the last few months have been. I am integrating with the world around me, so they sent me to the village so I could do it slowly. Too many people in the capital.”

He smiled. “That is true.”

The other four were sitting around and frowning.

Kana smiled. “For those who missed it, I was created, not born. Grown in a lab as a blank body and educated after my canister was rescued.”

Ikaika asked, “But you are a living being?”

“Yes. I am a registered dragon and accepted by the diamond dragon.” She smiled. “We share a last name.”

“You have met her?”

“Yes, and her sister is my mentor.”

That credential seemed to relax them.
