“I will give you the name of our mage and seer. She’s young but excellent.”

He stared. “You have a loose mage?”

“Certainly. She was the first one to greet Kana on her arrival, along with my daughter.” She chuckled. “We only have the one, and she will be watched her entire life, just as her mother was.”

The senator stared.

“Well, thank you for taking my call. We will keep you apprised of progress, but it should be within the next few weeks.”

“My pleasure, Your Majesty. I wish you and your consort well.”

She nodded and ended the call, turning to her husband. “He wishes you well.”

“He is my nephew. He had better wish me well.” He walked over to her and helped her to her feet.

She laughed and hugged him. “I am so excited by this wedding. I can’t believe that grumpy Koa is laughing and smiling. Not to mention flirting.”

“She’s a good influence on him, and his dragon is smitten. So, how soon are you going to have her recorded into island history?”

“After the wedding or possibly her first child. I don’t want her to get a big head.”

He chuckled, and they left her private office.

She smiled as she saw Kana on the green space being taught about plants by the island’s little mage.

The island would be in good hands for the next generation. It was a wonderful feeling.
