Wait, what? What did he see?

Tamerin nodded. “Yes, your raven. How did you create that, boy? And how did you learn to use it like you did today?”

Shrugging, I sat. “I take on that form only when I walk the dream world with my mate. I didn’t know it could manifest and fight for me out here in reality, but that was useful.”

“Yes, it was, indeed.” He shoved a long stick through the bird and placed it over the fire before sitting back on his haunches.

“First, tell me a little about your mate.”

Lexi, unsure of who he was talking to, asked, “My mate?”

Tamerin smiled at her, his face lighting up. “No, dear girl, not yours, even though I am sure he is unique.” He turned back to me, the smile disappearing.

Right.

“My mate is the sister of Lexi’s mate.” Let me start with that. “Her name is Lilianne Sarabas, and she is also a lycanthrope.” I hesitated, wondering how much to tell him.

“That is not all she is, is it?” He prompted.

Cocking my head, I shrugged. What would go wrong in giving him this information? We will just have to find out. “She is an oracle.”

He nodded, his grin directed towards me. “I thought so. She is a sister?”

Lexi chuckled. “She is one of triplets, like we are.” She waved one hand between us.

He tapped a finger on his chin, thinking. “Triplets. Tell me about these siblings.”

My sister took over, but I was more than willing to let her talk. “Lark, whose real name is Marcus, Konner, and Lily are one set. Their father was a gatekeeper on Earth. Lark has taken over that function, but he is not only a gatekeeper, but is called The Gatekeeper.” She proudly made the emphasis to show his status.

Tamerin’s eyes cut to her, spearing her with an unreadable expression. “The Gatekeeper? He’s come?”

She nodded slowly, watching him. “Yes? His sister is a powerful oracle and his brother, Konner, died and somehow the gate energy—or was it the gods?—remade him into an Angel. A protector.”

It appeared as if the old man had stopped breathing as his eyes shut close. “Yesss.” The word hissed out between his lips as he opened his eyes once more. “Before you tell me more about them, what about you?”

Taking in a deep breath, I let it out from between my lips. “There’s Lexi.” I pointed at her. “She is Artemis incarnate. Betta, our other sister, who had been on this world once, a long time ago, is a gaterunner and has mated with a demon Peace Guardian. Then there is me…” My voice trailed off, not sure how to explain my relationship with Lily.

Tamerin looked stunned. “So many? And now? Tell me—”

As soon as he got the words out, Lexi giggled, leaning forward. “Oh, we have so much more. Konner’s best friend is his protector. Justin is a lycanthrope and a Berserker. Our pack is aligned with two more Berserkers—Mercer and Tessa…”

I interrupted her. “And Tessa’s mother.”

Lexi nodded, “Ah, yes. Tessa’s mother is an older Berserker. Then James is a Fire, Ice and Spirit dragon. There are a few dragons awake on Earth now. James’s mate is Maggie, who is an omega lycanthrope, who is being called the Queen Omega.”

I smiled at my sister. “Don’t forget Mom.”

She snorted. “No one can forget Mom. Our foster mother, Holden, is our uncle Shane’s mate. He is the alpha of our pack, and she is a hybrid. We are not sure what that means except that Uncle Shane has to help her shift. And she can talk to the aliens that have come to Earth without knowing their language. They have three adorable girls—triplets, as well—who are now five.”

Tamerin’s mouth opened and closed several times, saying nothing. He did it again before he spit out, “Hybrid?”

We nodded, curious why he picked that out of all the other unbelievable things we had mentioned.

He reached behind him and pulled out the book without looking, opening it to a marked page. He read for several minutes, then looked up at us. “Are—Holden's?—parents still alive?”

We exchanged a glance. Well, shit. We had never asked her about her family.

I turned back to him. “No idea. She doesn’t talk about her parents, but they exist, I think. Somewhere. So much has happened in the few years we have known her. No one came to see her daughters when she had them, though, so either no one told them about their birth, they didn't care, or they were dead.”
