Xotchi stopped in front of me, her sides heaving as she breathed in deeply. Glad for the respite, I dropped onto a large rock and put my head between my knees, trying to get control over my lungs’ inability to get oxygen. I really needed to exercise more. I'll put it on the list once I returned to Earth, after saving the world and solidifying my mating bond.

Once I could breathe without wheezing, I glanced up, studying the woman.

She looked as beautiful as ever. And look at that. It appears she had a new trick. She now could shift back and keep her clothes. I wondered if she would teach me how to do that, if it wasn't a dragon thing.

Glancing around, I saw we were in a circular space with several tunnels leading off from it. There were no signs to show me where each of them went. I frowned.

“We should be safe enough for now. Let's keep moving. There is someone I would like you to meet.” Wow, she recovered fast. Faster than me. I watched as she strode off down one pathway, her movements confident.

Huh. I guess she didn't need a map. But I needed some answers. I stayed where I was, waiting for her to realize I wasn't following her. Too many people wanted to meet me or tell me what to do. Perhaps it was time to stand on my own.

Xotchi paused and turned back to study me. Her hair was a darker red now than what I remembered it being. Her slim body was in a fitted blue button down and the best leather leggings I had ever seen were kissing her legs.

Where could I get a pair of those leggings?

“Look. I know you have no reason to trust me, but I am different. Being out here in the universe and learning what it means to be a dragon has been amazing. Many of those I have met are really great people. Dragons, shifters, other races—you name it. But this woman I am taking you to is very important, and I think you will want to talk to her.”

Exhaling, I realized I was in too deep to go back now, if I could even find my way to Earth. I mean, if I didn’t want to meet this person, would Xotchi leave me here? I couldn’t open gates, like my brother did. Nor was I made of energy like Konner.

Konner.

I wanted to slap my forehead hard. I wasn’t sure why I hadn’t thought of him before. I wondered if I could have reached out to him while on Delphi or if the god-energy worked differently from other kinds. Could angels even go there? Or did the god keep them from visiting his domain?

No matter. I wasn't there now. My mind latched onto my brother’s link.

Konner. Can you hear me?

Confusion came back across the bond. Of course, Lily. Is there any reason I wouldn’t be able to?

I grinned, feeling relieved I wasn't completely alone. I stood and walked over to the red dragon, while reveling in the fact I could talk to one of my brothers again.

Xotchi threw me an odd glance before continuing down the tunnel. I followed behind her slower, returning to my conversation with my brother.

Sorry. I'm with Xotchi now. I can’t tell you where, but Apollo had kidnapped me and held me on Delphi for a while. He wanted to find out what I had learned so far as an oracle. Being the head of all oracles, let’s just say he could have force me to tell him things, even if I didn't want to. He also could ride along during my vision-dream sequences.

Oh, fuck. Do you need me to rescue you?

I thought about it for a minute. I was curious about this person the dragon said I should meet.

Not right now. Xotchi got me out of there. She has someone she wants to introduce me to. After the meeting, I may contact you. Can you find me without me knowing where I am?

My brother snorted. Yes, I think I can. I already have a general idea of which planet you are on, so once I get closer, I can pinpoint you. That is one benefit of being an angel.

I bet.

I almost missed the turn the dragon took, being submersed in my conversation with my brother. I scrambled, almost falling as I took the corner, barely able to keep up with her.

She shot a look over her shoulder, but said nothing.

Okay, gotta go.

Konner quickly answered. One more thing, sister dear. Soren is back on Earth. Lexi and he went to a planet to grow older faster than they otherwise would have. A few days for us appears to have been about four or five years at that place.

I realized I was holding my breath and quickly exhaled. My mate was okay and back home. We could complete our bond now. I wondered if my mate—being older now by several years—would feel the same about me. Uncertainty filled me.

Konner finished up. Okay, going now. So much is going on here. Those two also brought back a relative of Holden’s. From a race called the Universa. Oh, and your mate now has a familiar. Things appear to be escalating. Ping me when you are ready to come back.

Thinking hard about this new information, I answered him. Will do. Love you, bro.
