He chuckled, brushing his mouth over her ear. “Hell? I think you been hanging out with us Reilly’s too much. What’s next? Fuck?”

She squirmed underneath him and rolled over. He lifted his chest to let her roll over. He caught her smile, even though she was trying to perfect her glare. She sucked at the glare; her face was too pretty to pull it off.

She tilted her head to the side and smirked. “Fuck.”

He bellowed a laugh and shook his head. “Gotta say it like you mean it, Riss.”

“I’m not screaming fuck and waking up the whole house.”

“Fair enough.” He leaned in for a kiss and then stood up, walking to the closet. His room was small but perfect for the two of them. She had moved her stuff in, which wasn’t a lot, but he noticed a few new things. There was a candle on the dresser, and the soap in the bathroom was some sweet-smelling vanilla scrub. He’d never admit it, but he liked having the female touch in his room. Their room.

“How’d it go tonight?”

“Uh, fine. Your dad was good. Did you ever hear the story about Colleen at Sturgis riding naked on Main?”

Caden froze and poked his head out of the bathroom. Marissa raised her brows. “I’m pretty sure what she did is illegal in at least four states.” Caden laughed. She still insisted on being Colleen for Pop. Caden was opposed to it, but as she said, it didn’t hurt anyone, and he seemed to be better tempered when Colleen was around. It was unconventional and probably not medically recommended, but if it worked for Pop, they’d do it.

He changed out of his jeans and took off his T-shirt. She was staring when he made his way to the bed. She slithered inside the sheets, and he slipped in next to her. Kissing her lips, he pulled her over him to lay flat over his chest. She pulled back.

“So, um…you might not like this.”

“What?”

“I grounded Trevor.”

He drew in a deep breath. He’d heard all about the grounding a few hours ago when he talked with Trevor. The kid was actually amused by it. Caden wasn’t. Not for the grounding; he was on Marissa’s side with that one. He even got a tightness in his chest when Trevor referred to her as his mom. That was something Trevor never came close to having.

“I heard.”

Her bottom lip jutted out, and he leaned up, unable to resist biting her lip. His tongue drove past her lips. He deepened the kiss and grasped her waist. She jerked her head back and furrowed her brows.

“And?”

“And what?”

“Well, are you okay with it?”

He chuckled, wrapping his arms around her waist. “Fuck yeah. If I’d known about the comment, I would have kicked his ass when it happened. He’s lucky you just grounded him. Though, I don’t get how you fucking got him a second chance.”

“He told her I was his mom. Doesn’t that bother you?”

“Why would it? You going somewhere, leaving here?”

“What? No.”

“All right. Riss, you make him dinner, help him with homework, fucking go to every single game he has, and cheer like his biggest fucking fan. You encourage him, love him. Of course, he’s gonna think of you as his mom when you treat him like you are.”

“And it doesn’t bother you?”

“What? That the woman I love, loves my kid? Yeah, it’s a fucking hardship, babe.” He snickered, expecting her to laugh, but her lips faltered, and her eyes got glassy.

“You just said you love me.”

“I know. I said it, remember?”

“Well, I love you too.”

Caden snickered. “I know you do.”
