The next half hour was spent with Trevor talking her ear off. Everything from school and bragging about being on varsity football. The kid had every right to be proud. Hell, Caden usually bragged more about it than Trevor. His coach had reached out to him last year, talking about scouts and getting him a scholarship in a few years. Caden wanted nothing less, but Trevor was still set on being in the MC.

“And I’m joining as soon as I turn eighteen.”

Caden cleared his throat. “As soon as you graduate high school,” he amended. He wouldn’t stand in his son’s way in the MC if it was what he wanted, but he had to finish school. It was non-negotiable, and he knew it, along with Kase.

“No college?” Marissa asked.

Trevor shook his head. “Uh-uh. Dad wants me to go, says I can join after, but I want in at eighteen. My uncle’s gonna hook me up with a job, and I’ll work and prospect. It’s gonna be awesome.”

Marissa stared at her plate. She’d eaten a good amount. He had the feeling she purposely ate more for Trevor’s sake. “What kind of job will you do?”

“Don’t know, but my uncle’s got a shit ton of contacts.” Trevor glanced up at Caden and mouthed, sorry.

“Kase?”

“Yeah, have you met him?”

Marissa nodded while clamping her lips.

“What did you think?”

Marissa stayed quiet, and Caden was just as eager to hear what would come out of her mouth as Trevor was. Kase was a god to his son.

“Um.” She gulped and wiped her mouth with her napkin. “He’s,” she paused. “Very tall.”

Trevor didn’t seem to get her answer but continued with his hero worship of Kase. “Yeah, all the women love him. He actually stole my dad’s girlfriend back in high school. He’s a fuc…”

“The mouth,” Caden snapped.

Trevor held up his hands. “Sorry.” He turned back to Marissa. “He’s a legend with women. No woman has ever turned him down.”

Caden snorted. “I wouldn’t go that far.”

Trevor leaned on the table. “Name one.”

“I did.”

Both Caden and Trevor slowly looked at her simultaneously. Caden had been there and fucking loved it. His brother was the closest person to him, but he gained a small thrill from seeing her turn him down. And more so, for what she said immediately following. “I didn’t turn Caden down.”

“Are you serious? Why?”

She glanced over at Caden and shrugged, which only intrigued Trevor more. He leaned forward. “Okay, so if you had to choose my dad or Uncle Kase, who would you pick?”

“Christ, Trev.” Caden huffed and glared at his son.

“What?” Trevor laughed.

Caden sighed. Life with a sixteen-year-old.

“Uh, I’d pick your dad.” Her voice was bland, but when he met her stare, her eyes sparkled a small light.

“Really?”

“Yeah, I think your dad is better looking than your uncle.” She turned her gaze to Caden and pursed her lips. “I like his face.”

Trevor’s grin spread so wide he was showing his molars. “Yeah?” He smirked and gave his dad a side glance. Caden wasn’t taking the bait. He could just imagine the perverse shit running through the kid’s head. “You know, we got the same face.”

Oh, fucking hell. “Go to bed.”
