Fuck, I hate that cocky bastard always being right. I absolutely expected the Don to shoot me on the spot when he found out I was dating his daughter after I lied about it. Not only that, but I stood up to him and told him he was wrong.

“Yeah, well, I still ended up locked away with the rest of you, didn’t I?” I grumble, searching for a hint of where we are. I don’t recognize the room. When I was here five years ago, I knew every location we owned like the back of my hand, but a lot can change in that amount of time.

Back then, I desperately wanted to be close to my Reginetta, to protect her from harm. But as I watched her grow into the woman she is now, learning to embrace who she is… I haven’t seen anything sexier. And to call her mine, nothing comes close to comparing. So much has changed in five years.

“We need to get out of here,” Jasper announces unhelpfully.

“No shit,” Cole snaps at him. “I need to find a phone so I can track her down.”

I wince, remembering the moment she put the phone on her father’s desk in their heated standoff. “You won’t be able to track her with it. She left it behind.”

“Fuck!” Cole yells, punching the wall. He’s losing his cool quickly, and my gaze moves to Grayson. He’s leaning against the wall with his arms crossed and an unimpressed frown.

“She probably did it on purpose wanting to escape all of you, especially whichever one of you claims to be Ravenmaster,” he accuses. No sign of doubt in his gaze. I knew he was too smart not to start putting things together.

“Why would she want to take a break from Ravenmaster?” Cole questions him with a scoff. The complete and utter shock is evident in his tone that he doesn’t even believe it could be a possibility. “She fucking loves her stalker.”

Grayson gives a mocking laugh setting my nerves on edge. He’s asking for a fight and Cole is constantly on the brink of becoming unhinged. He’s so much like Raven with her moments of not thinking things through. Like when she decides to kill someone spur of the moment.

“Because you’re all fucking idiots. She doesn’t trust a single one of you right now. You broke her trust and kept your stupid secrets a day too long. Now you have to win her back all over again,” Grayson rumbles, kicking off from the wall. “Want to fill me in on what’s going on between you?” He gestures between the three of us and pauses, waiting for an answer.

Jasper and Cole whip their heads around, focusing their full attention on him. Both of them having deadpan expressions, not giving a single thought away “Fill you in on what?” Jasper asks, his voice having gone monotone.

“Listen, I know I’m the new guy around here, but I’m not as dumb as you clearly think. We all know, including Remi, that you’re, at the very least, keeping things from her. But I don’t think that’s where it ends… I think at least one of you is the Ravenmaster, and all of you know who it is.”

Grayson thumbs at his lip, a nervous tic he usually only shows around Remi, something she finds utterly adorable. It brings a smile to her lips every time she sees it, a smile I haven’t seen her use since she accused us of lying. “I don’t know why you all thought it was best to hide the truth, but you should’ve known better. You,” he points to Jasper, “For some unknown reason, have a proclivity for always needing the truth to be spoken around you. She knows that about you, and because of that, you keeping secrets is an even bigger hit than any of us keeping them.” He gestures to the rest of us in the room making sure his meaning is clear.

He then focuses on Cole. “You’re a goddamn hacker genius who has way too much in common with the stalker, and yet she’s trusted you at your word that it hasn’t been you. I call bullshit. As if you haven’t been able to hack your way into finding his identity—which is exactly how I know you know who the fuck he is.

“And, you.” Apparently, I’m next, because he turns toward me, the full force of his narrowed glare bearing down on me. I can’t help the small flinch I show, knowing whatever he says will hit far too close to the truth. In the short amount of time Grayson has been in Remi’s life, he’s had a distinct insight into her inner mind. In fact, the glare wouldn’t bother me at all if it wasn’t for the fact it’s in defense of my girl.

“You’ve known more personal secrets about her past than she ever could have imagined,” he continues. “You don’t have to know her for long to see that she has never truly felt like she’s had a family; and for her to find out you’ve kept that from her all these years is devastating. Especially after she’s grown to trust you so much.” He gives a disappointed shake of his head.

Fucking hell, I really hate how his words are affecting me. A knot forms in my throat knowing he’s right, but I haven’t had a chance, or even the option to tell her. It’s not like we’ve had a close relationship these past five years, and there hasn’t exactly been a free moment to share these things with her. Ever since this all started it’s been one thing after another; never a spare second to share something so monumental. Which is exactly what I tell him.

“I don’t want to hear your fucking excuses,” he says, holding up one hand. “I’m telling you that you need to fucking fix it. This is on all of you. I’m not on her bad side, you are. I’m doing my best to help, but I can only take you so far. Now, do you want to tell me the fucking truth, or are you keeping your goddamn secrets?” Grayson is getting angry now, but honestly, I can’t blame him.

Apparently, Cole and Jasper don’t enjoy hearing the truth either, because their faces are turning red, and their arms are crossed in defense.

“It’s not that easy,” Cole finally responds.

“Why not?” Grayson challenges.

“Because we don’t know you,” Jasper answers for Cole, knowing exactly where he’s going with this.

“Whose fault is that?” Grayson throws back. “Are you telling me the three of you do know each other?”

Jasper opens his mouth to reply, but quickly shuts it again, finding himself backed into a corner of having to admit something. Cole lets out a sigh and the three of us exchange a glance. I shrug my shoulders not really caring if we share with Grayson. It’s not like he won’t find out eventually, and the likelihood of him sharing it with Remi before we get the chance isn’t very high. We can always threaten him to make sure he doesn’t. He’s smart enough to understand we deserve the right to tell her ourselves.

Fuck! I hate opening up and sharing things with anyone, especially someone as unknown as Grayson. He’s certainly proven himself to be trustworthy around Remi, so I don’t know why I’m having such a hard time wanting to tell him anything. I’ve only shared things with the other two out of necessity.

Before I get the chance to say anything, Jasper does it for me, acting like some kind of leader of the group. “You really want to know what’s going on?” he questions Grayson, a menacing tone in his voice, most likely trying to intimidate the truth out of him.

Grayson rolls his eyes and gives a pointed stare, not saying a word. He simply folds his arms and spreads his legs in a stance showing he’s ready for anything.

Jasper’s eyes narrow even more, not finding the move impressive. He’s hesitant to let him into the group. And with a glance at Cole I can tell he doesn’t want to let him in at all.

I swear Cole is one scary motherfucker. You can never anticipate what he’s about to do or what he’s thinking. The only time I see him show any kind of emotion is when he’s around Remi, and even then I’m never certain if he’s acting or showing what he’s truly feeling. It’s probably a combination of the two but I know he’ll never admit the truth if asked. And then there’s the fact he can flip at the drop of a hat. I’d be willing to say he’s even more psychotic than Remi. Which is probably why she likes him so much.
