Being separated from her today, not being able to follow her every single move, was absolute torture. I never expected my obsession over her to consume me so completely, but here I am, unable to survive a day without her invading my every thought. When did that even happen?

Leaving her right now feels like cutting a limb off. I don’t want to stop touching her. My nerves are still raw from being away from her, even for such a short period of time, and the only thing able to soothe it is being with her in person. I may watch her with my cameras, stalk her through her phone, but none of that compares to physically being here. My top goal in life is to ensure it never happens again, being separated from her like this, that is.

I place a new cell phone on the bed next to her, right in her line of sight. “I hate leaving you so soon, you have no idea how much I need to be with you. Unfortunately, your brother probably wouldn’t take kindly to me breaking in. Text me back today?” The last part I meant as a command, but somehow it came out more of an unsure question. I wince, not liking the way it sounded.

With one more kiss to her temple, at the right angle to where she can’t see me, I leave the room. Fuck if this woman isn’t my soulmate. Leaving her is like abandoning a part of myself. Whether it’s for five minutes, or an hour, the length of time doesn’t matter, my soul needs her to anchor myself to reality.

Chapter 14

Raven

There’s a grin on my face when I wake up, happiness bubbling over, an emotion I’m not used to, but one that has been happening more and more frequently. I jump from the bed, not wanting to wait another second to see the new tattoos. A fullness in my ass reminds me of the plug Ravenmaster left in me. If this is anything like the egg, I’m in for a torturous day.

The room my brother gave me to use has an ensuite bathroom which is where I head. As soon as I walk through the doorway, I come face to face with my bedhead. Spinning on my heel, I turn my back to the reflection and peer over my shoulder. The skin around my new tattoos shows a hint of red, the irritated skin drawing my eye directly to the recent additions.

At the base of my neck are three small birds with an orangish glow as if they’re catching the light from a sunset, but I know they represent the explosion. They’re smaller—more in the distance. It seems like Ravenmaster placed them there knowing there’ll be other smaller birds to add in the future. Something about the angle makes them look like they’re fading into the background depicting the lack of intimacy in the kill.

Close to my older tattoos is a bigger raven with an X through each eye for the senator I poisoned. And then there’s a bird for Grayson’s dad, a nail clutched in its talons.

They blend in nicely with the previous birds. My collection is growing, and once again, I’m astonished by the skill of my stalker and his artistic talents. It makes me want to learn more about him. How did he learn how to tattoo? Has he always been talented with art?

Anger threatens to bubble up, but I push it away in favor of fucking with him. I rush to the bed and search through the sheets until I find what I’m looking for. I pick up the phone he left for me and it immediately unlocks and opens to a text screen with him, almost as if he was waiting for me.

Raven: You missed one.

Ravenmaster: What do you mean?

Raven: Exactly what I said.

Ravenmaster: I need a little more than that.

Raven: How about I give you a hint?

Ravenmaster: Have you been missing our games so much that you’re wanting to play one now?

Without waiting for an answer, the plug turns on, a slow vibration running through me. My cunt instantly floods, and I hide my moan, not wanting to give him the satisfaction, knowing he’s listening.

Raven: Playing dirty already, are we?

Ravenmaster: All’s fair in love and war.

Raven: Love? Really?

Ravenmaster: Maybe someday… if you play your cards right. Or at least as close as someone like us can get.

Ravenmaster: Now do you want to play your game?

Raven: I had a lot of fun yesterday.

Ravenmaster: Are you changing the topic or is this part of your game?

Raven: Everything in life is a game. You should know that.

Raven: But yes it’s part of the game.

Ravenmaster: Are you trying to tell me you killed someone yesterday?

Ravenmaster: Of course you did, I should have expected it.
