I bite my lip and stare into Grayson’s eyes, wanting more than anything to have him take me upstairs, to fuck me for the first time when he isn’t purposefully trying to turn me off. A knowing gaze shines back at me, and his lips split into his sweet smile. “We don’t have time for all the things I want to do to you,” he rasps, then gives me a slow, toe curling kiss.

When he pulls away, he sets me on my feet and steps away. My cunt instantly weeps at knowing she isn’t about to be played with. I’m suddenly regretting taking the plug out. At least then I could have had some orgasms, and taken off the edge that has me in a chokehold. Grayson gives me a wink and saunters into the kitchen, sitting in front of my food, and taking a strip of bacon before I can say anything. Fucking asshole.

“I can give you everything you need, Luv,” Cole whispers from behind me, having snuck up on me when I was distracted. I swing my arm out at him, but he avoids the impact by quickly dodging to the room with the others.

Jasper gives me a long, hard stare before letting out a harsh exhale. He doesn’t try to approach, but something about his body language says he wants to be closer to me, to gain some comfort by touching me. He holds himself back though, knowing I don’t want that right now.

“I know you don’t see it this way, but I really didn’t lie to you. I promised to not say anything, and you know I hold my word in high regard,” he says low enough so it stays between the two of us.

“You say that, but all I hear is that you chose someone else over me. Which sounds fucking pathetic when I say it out loud. Fuck. I shouldn’t care about that.” My fingers move to rub at my temples, the screwed up feelings causing instant tension.

He takes a hesitant step toward me, and his hand does a stutter-stop reaching for my shoulder. The warmth of his touch is briefly placed there before sliding to the back of my neck. The heat radiates into my tight muscles, making me relax.

“Don’t say that. You want to come first in our relationship and that’s exactly how it should be. In this case it’s more like I chose myself and my wants over you.” He winces and glances down for a moment as if ashamed of his actions, then gazes into my eyes again. “I can promise that I won’t purposefully hide anything new from you starting now.”

I study his face, weighing my answer. “So you still won’t tell me the things you already know?”

“Little Bird,” he coos. “There’s only one thing you don’t know at this point. Which is who Ravenmaster is. And quite frankly, I think you’d be upset with all of us if you didn’t figure it out on your own.” He leans in and kisses my cheek before leaving me to think over what he said.

It makes a lot of goddamn sense. Fuck if he isn’t right. I would hate being given the answer after all this time. It still stings knowing they hold the knowledge of who he is and are keeping it from me. But… maybe I can forgive Cole and Jasper for this one.

Vander though… he’s hiding a lot more than Ravenmaster’s identity, making him a completely different story.

Chapter 15

Raven

“What are you doing here, Vander?” Enzo asks, sliding a new cup of coffee toward me as I sit on Grayson’s lap.

“That’s a dumb question, baby Segreto. Why would I be anywhere else?” Vander quips, reaching for a napkin. Seems Luca made enough food to feed an army, so it appears they expected my men to show up, at least to some extent. Enzo just wants to give him a hard time.

“For starters, you were left tied up in time out.” Enzo raises an eyebrow, giving him a hard stare. “Really? Dating my sorella without permission? You know women are only used as a way to gain more power and riches.“ He makes a tsking sound.

I whip out my knife again from where I tucked it in my back pocket but don’t get far when Grayson’s arms band around my waist and Vander grips my wrist. “He’s kidding, Reginetta. Your fratello isn’t a misogynistic prick. Lord knows how that’s even possible with how much time he spends with your padre.”

Enzo holds his hands up defensively. “I swear I was only messing with Vander. You know I haven’t treated you that way.”

I let out a huff and return to eating my breakfast. “We both know none of you expected me to actually stay there. The Don made his point, the message was received, and the fact he didn’t kill me was pretty much giving his blessing. Don’t you agree?” Vander continues as if I didn’t pull a knife on my brother.

Enzo smirks and leans against the counter. “Padre admitted he should have given you permission a long time ago. You are famiglia after all.”

“Fucking assholes. I’m right here. Nobody needs permission to date me, it’s my goddamn decision!” I growl, reaching for my knife again. Someone is asking to get stabbed. Or stabbed again as the case may be.

“They know, babe. It’s the way mafias are run,” Grayson soothes, running his fingertips over my thighs. I can already tell he’ll be teasing me all day. I lean into his chest, enjoying our closeness, and he presses a kiss to the side of my neck.

“You know you’re supposed to call him Don in front of others,” Vander corrects Enzo with a challenging smirk.

“What part of famiglia didn’t you get?“ Enzo throws back, not really taking the bait. Before Vander can say anything else, he cuts him off. “Yes, they are famiglia too. Even though my sorella is mad at most of you, it would take a blind man not to see how she feels.”

My gaze narrows. I don’t know what he’s talking about.

Vander notices my reaction and changes the subject. “So I’m assuming he already has messages he wants her to start sending?”

Ohhh messages. Some kind of code for taking someone out, I’m sure. “When doesn’t he?” Lucas quips.

“Who’s asking dumb questions now, Vander?” Enzo throws back. They really do seem like family, squabbling like siblings. Enzo drops the playfulness and straightens from the counter. “The owner at the dry cleaner is skimming a little extra for himself. The Don doesn’t want anyone else to get any stupid ideas.” A scowl takes over his features, bringing on a darkness that isn’t quite as dark as mine, but still respectable.

“Nobody steals from the Segreto family,” Matteo growls out, backing up his best friend.
