After coming out of my heat feeling like a brand new woman, Emmett informed me that our story touched the heart of Desmond Abernathy, the eccentric billionaire. He’s known for being extremely smart with his money, reclusive, and has turned down every offer to appear on Heat Paradise. The news calls him the most eligible bachelor.

And apparently, he offered his private island, all expenses paid, for two weeks to let the explosion of what happened die down before we return to reality and are bombarded by interviews, and, well, life.

For now, though, I’m choosing to ignore what’s coming and think about what’s happening at the moment. Our honeymoon. Two weeks of no cameras, sunshine, and let’s be honest, lots and lots of dick. My perfect idea of a vacation, surrounded by my pack.

And yes, my men have made me dick drunk, and I won’t apologize for it one bit.

Emmett strokes my hand with this thumb, the action comforting to my nerves. When I glance at him, I find him already staring at me, and it brings a smile to my lips.

“When they asked you to be the doctor this season, I bet you never thought in your wildest dreams you’d end up bonded, did you?”

He leans over, marking me with his dark chocolate as he presses his nose to my neck. “No, I didn’t, Little Omega, but once I met you, I held out hope all the same. It’s why I could never completely pull away.”

Ryland lets out a big yawn, stretching his long legs into the aisle. “Do you think we’ll see any dolphins? I mean, what does a private island entail, anyway?”

I chuckle. “Honestly, I have no idea. We’re all in for a surprise.”

Seriously. We were basically told to pack our essentials and not to worry about anything else before we were ushered onto the jet. My men arranged for Mrs. Violet to ship all of my scent marked items to Emmett’s home for me, so they’ll be waiting when we get back. The good news is I have the real scents here with me, marking whatever I need, whenever I need. In the future, when we secure a house big enough to fit all of us, my nest will be absolutely perfect.

Speaking of which, we haven’t really broached the subject yet, but I know we’ll have to, eventually. Emmett, Kyle, and the twins have important jobs that will need to be discussed, but I have faith we’ll figure it out. We have a year to decide, after all. Thankfully, all newly bonded packs are given what they call “pack leave,” to get their affairs in order and fully be able to enjoy the first year as mated pairs. Plus, where there’s love, there’s a way.

The tinkling sound of the seat belt alert plays across the speakers seconds before the pilot’s voice can be heard. “We’re about five minutes out and will begin our descent shortly. Please take your seats and prepare for landing.”

As if I’d gotten out of mine.

Jedrik stops by my seat on his way back from the bathroom. His hands drop to the belt and tug, making sure it’s secure. “Safety first, Trouble,” he rumbles before kissing me.

I can’t help but rib him. “You should take your own advice, Jed. Go put your seatbelt on.”

“Your wish is my command,” he responds, tone oozing sex. Goddamn, they’ll be the death of me.

Is it too late to hop in the bathroom for a quickie and join the mile high club? Probably. Too bad.

As soon as the jet door pops open, the first thing to greet us is a blast of warm tropical air. The salt is so thick you can practically taste it. I take a deep inhale, shielding my eyes from the sun as we disembark.

When my vision finally adjusts to the brightness, the sights before me are enough to take my breath away. The crisp, turquoise ocean, the stunning modern mansion, the white sandy beach, the swaying palm trees. A truly amazing combination. Excitement swirls in my chest as I take everything in.

The breeze coming off the ocean tousles my hair, blowing strands into my face. I’m already feeling lighter the longer the sun shines on me, and the best part is knowing there isn’t a camera in sight.

I feel like I’m finally getting a break from life. I can picture it all; sitting by the water under the bright sun, feeling sand between my toes, and watching my men play volleyball together at the net I spot by some lounge chairs. Skinny dipping at night under the brightness of the moon, and exploring the openness of the island like a pack of love-struck teenagers. Yep, this is exactly what the doctor ordered.

A deep, unknown voice startles me out of my thoughts. “Hi, I’m Desmond Abernathy. Welcome, I’m glad you’re here.” A gorgeous man pulls his sunglasses off his face and extends a hand toward Emmett first. “Good to see you again.”

According to Em, he sat next to Desmond during my Designation Ceremony and they shared similar ideas. “You too,” Emmett responds. “Desmond, this is Verity, my omega. And these are my pack mates, Kyle, Andrik, Jedrik, and Ryland. We can’t thank you enough for your generous offer.”

Desmond greets each of us, and I can’t help but notice the longing in his eyes. Especially when Jedrik puts a possessive hand on my shoulder. He’s probably not even thinking about it, simply wanting to comfort me like usual, but Desmond certainly notices. “Well, I don’t want to take up too much of your time. I simply wanted to be here to greet you all in person. The island is completely yours. Kitchen and toiletries are stocked, so use whatever you need.” His phone rings, and he lets out an exhausted sigh. “Sorry, business calls. Enjoy your stay.”

He answers before any of us can respond and walks up the steps to his private jet. Because of course, it belongs to the billionaire.

A grin splits my lips when I turn my attention to my pack and find each of them staring at me. “So, boys, what are we doing first?” I ask, my tone breathier than I’d intended.

Andrik’s chest rumbles as he dives for me, throwing me over his shoulder. From my position, I notice the others grabbing our bags and hurrying along after him as he makes a beeline for the mansion.

“You, Ver Bear,” Ry answers, voice dripping with desire.

Oh, hell yes.

Something tells me we’ll have christened every part of this island by the time our two weeks are up.
