“Speaking of your mates, how has life been treating you all since the show ended? Would you say the ‘honeymoon phase’ is over, or only just beginning?”

Kyle squeezes my hand, letting me know he’d like to be the one to respond. “I know some packs drop out of their ‘honeymoon phase’ quickly, but I simply don’t see it happening for us any time soon. Or ever.”

“Having a year to ourselves, getting to know our pack on every level, and even buying this house together... it’s been a dream come true,” Emmett continues.

Ry wiggles his eyebrows at the camera. “Yeah, pack leave is a brilliant thing, if you know what I mean.”

His answer causes Nancy to laugh and fan her face. “I can only imagine. I can practically feel the sexual chemistry between you from here. You’re one lucky omega, Verity Graves.”

“I know,” I respond simply, folding my hands in my lap.

“Well, now that we know a little of what mated life is like, I’d like to switch topics to the upcoming season of Heat Paradise. Since the show was canceled after the tragedy that occurred at Hidden Haven Manor, omegas have been kept in a holding pattern, under strict supervision, awaiting their future.

“While Desmond is also working on a dating app geared toward alpha and omega relationships, that’s only in testing stages right now. What are your thoughts on the omegas who haven’t found their packs yet?”

“That’s a good question, Nancy. And personally, I think it’s better for the omegas to have to wait than accidentally be put with someone they might not be completely compatible with. I know the waiting probably sucks, but I trust that in the end, it’ll be worth it. Especially once that dating app goes live.”

“Do you, or your mates, have any ideas other than the dating app on ways an omega can find their alphas since there will only be one omega a season on Heat Paradise now?”

This time it’s Emmett who responds. “Truthfully? I think omegas and alphas should be allowed to find their packs the same way betas do. Our biology knows better than we do sometimes and they should explore it. Even if it’s a short meet and greet to figure out what scents work with who. That, in my opinion, is the key. Letting our biology determine what’s best. Why can’t an omega bump into an alpha at a coffee shop?”

Nancy pauses for a moment, seeming to think over Emmett’s answer. “Wonderfully said, Dr. DeLuca. One final question, Verity. Do you have any advice for whoever the next omega is on Heat Paradise?”

For this, I look directly into the camera. “Lean into what your body is telling you and don’t feel bad for exploring what omegas were bred to do. But most importantly, have fun. Meeting your pack is such a beautiful experience. Savor every last second.”

Nancy wipes a tear from the corner of her eye. “It’s certainly no surprise why Verity is such a fan favorite. Graceful, absolutely graceful. There you have it, Heat Fiends. The lottery to pick the next omega will happen moments after the Designation Ceremony, so make sure you tune in. We’ll be seeing you again super soon. Once more, congratulations on your happy ending, from all of us here on Heat Paradise.”

I blow out a breath, relieved everyone is finally gone, and the house is somewhat back in order. There are still plenty of things we need to buy and work on, but those are projects for the future. As I stand in the foyer, staring at everything, I can’t help but think about how crazy my life is and what would’ve happened if Andrik hadn’t caught me that day.

I don’t realize I’m crying until Jedrik wraps his arms around me from behind, snapping me out of my thoughts. “You okay, Trouble?” he asks softly.

“Yeah,” I reply, sniffing back my tears. “I’m reflecting. It’s amazing how far we’ve made it in only a year.”

Jedrik spins me around, pulling our bodies flush so he can kiss the tears from my cheeks. “And we have so much growing left to do.”

That brings a smile to my lips. “We totally do.” I squeeze his waist, relishing his presence. “Thank you, Jed.”

“That’s what mates are for, Trouble. To dry your tears or be the shoulder you can cry on. Whatever the need may be. You know we’re always here.”

“Always,” Andrik’s voice rumbles, his toasty spices greeting me, as does his warmth from behind. “Do you want to go get ready for bed, Precious? I can make you some tea? The others are already waiting there. I think Ry might’ve even drawn you a bath while Emmett and Kyle sorted out your sleepwear.”

He brushes some hair away from my neck before pressing his nose there, grinning. A moan of desire falls from my lips. Now I’m thinking about something completely different. All of them. In me, around me, filling me. Like we will be forever. “Now that you mention it. I do. Let’s go.”

I can’t get up to our room fast enough, chuckles following me the whole way.
