I narrow my eyes at the pair of them. “Well, don’t hold me in suspense, you clitteases. What is it?” I glance between the gatekeeping punks, and my excitement ratchets up with the conspiratorial glance they share.

Instead of saying anything, Andrik picks up one of the billiard balls and moves to the wall where a rack holding the cues is affixed. I don’t notice it until he reaches for one of the sticks, but there’s a circular depression. He places the ball there, pinning it between the rack and the pole.

With a grin over his shoulder to make sure I’m watching, he tugs on the cue. The ball acts as leverage and when he moves the cue, a wall slides out of place with a slight hiss, revealing a dark hallway. My jaw drops.

Holy shitballs, this place has hidden passageways.

A realization hits me. Is this how Jedrik managed to leave so easily the night he kissed me and ran? Now that I’m thinking about it, he did go in the wrong direction. I was simply too dazed to realize.

Excitement makes me tingly all over. The mansion just became way freaking cooler.

“Where does it go?” I ask, peering into the darkness. I hope they brought flashlights because I don’t think there will be any light once the door closes again.

“This one leads to the kitchens,” Andrik rumbles against my back. I didn’t even realize he’d gotten so close. Instinctively, I lean into him, seeking the comfort of his touch. As if realizing what I need, his arms wrap around me, and his nose runs along my neck, taking in a deep sniff of my pear scent that gets stronger and sweeter the longer he touches me.

“This one? So there are others?” I snuggle into his hold as a light, pleased purr escapes him and toasty spices plume in the air.

“There are a few of them,” Jedrik says, standing in front of me. “There’s one leading from the omega wing to the library, with access to a hallway on the second floor leading to the movie theater.”

“Why aren’t we taking that one?” I ask, wondering why we had to risk getting caught by leaving the wing at all.

“Because this passage is on the other side of the mansion and the side door exit is attached to the kitchen. The cameramen and crew don’t spend time there.” Andrik takes a step forward, forcing me to take one, too.

“What my brother’s trying to say,” Jedrik picks up the conversation, “is that we have a better chance of getting out of here without getting caught if we use this passageway rather than walking through the main level from the library.”

My mind goes to the time I spent in the kitchen. Of Chef Bob, his wife Sheila, and their culinary team. “You know the kitchens probably won’t be empty, right?”

Andrik chuckles in my ear. “Rumor has it the kitchen staff is team Verity. Seems you made some fans, thanks to Kyle.”

We step far enough into the darkness for the door to slide shut behind us, blackness swallowing us whole. Before I can show any fear of not being able to see a single thing, Jedrik kisses me. My perfume fills the air, more potent and sweeter than ever. Seems being in the middle of a twin sandwich will do that to an omega.

I whimper into his mouth as he lifts my legs, securing them around his waist. In the same movement, Jedrik presses me against his brother, who immediately trails kisses along my neck. His strong hands glide across my stomach to my breasts. It seems the darkness has us shedding any inhibitions we normally have around each other.

Jedrik separates from me with a grunt. The sound makes it seem like he doesn’t want to stop. “Come on, Trouble,” he mumbles. “If we keep this up, I’ll be knotting you against the dusty wall.” His lude comment has my core clenching with need.

Yes! His knot. I want it. No, I need it.

Another whimper escapes my throat. It’s high pitched and needy, making both alphas growl in response.

I shake my head, clearing it of the haze that seems to have taken root. “Sorry,” I whisper, more heat taking over my cheeks, neck, and chest. Thank goodness it’s dark. I don’t know what’s going on with me.

“No need to be sorry, Trouble. We feel the same way, but we don’t want to take advantage of you in a secret passageway.” Jedrik kisses my forehead and carries me down the cramped passage.

Andrik turns on a flashlight, shining it at our feet so Jedrik can make his way without tripping. “You should know by now you don’t need to apologize for bringing out our alpha instincts. You’re ours, whether we have to move mountains or make waves, and we want to make you the happiest omega ever. That includes reacting to your sexy little sounds.”

His words reassure me, and I settle into Jedrik’s side, where he shifts me. I realize I didn’t even put up a fuss at being carried when I can walk myself, but there’s an unsettled part of my omega instincts that demands all the touching I can get. Including being carried like a princess.

We make our way down a spiral staircase before walking along a narrow hallway. Every so often, I notice a peg sticking out of the wall. “What are those?” I ask, no longer able to hold back my intrigue.

“Wanna see?” Andrik offers. The way he says it makes me think this is another one of the secrets the mansion holds.

“Do omegas crave their alpha’s knot?” The phrase is out of my mouth before I can think it through, giving away the topic I can’t get out of my head. My reluctance has turned into burning curiosity in the span of a few weeks.

“I don’t know, Verity,” Jedrik rumbles. “Are you craving my knot?”

The scent of pears squid inks all over the place, and my thighs squeeze together. At least they try to. Instead, they strangle Jedrik’s waist, and my pussy fills with slick. He flashes a smirk in my direction and raises his eyebrow with the shaved line.

“Yes,” I whisper, my tone breathy with need. “Both of you.” The admissions keep spilling from my lips as if I have no control over my filter today.
