Jesse shook his head, smacking Landon on the chest. “I can’t believe you almost got a hole-in-one on the fourteenth.”

“I had a good teacher.” He winked at me. “However, it was a par three and a straight shot. Tiger and Rory could’ve done it, not that they’d ever play out here.”

“Could you imagine seeing them here?” Jesse sighed, dropping his clubs into his bag.

Eric walked over to our cart and volleyed his gaze between Landon and me. “We’re going to stay for lunch. You two are staying, right?”

I looked at Landon, who had a hopeful grin on his face and cleared my throat. “You know what, I should get home. I’ve got some things there I need to finish.”

“You don’t want to stay?” Landon mock-pouted and stepped a little closer to me.

“Nah, you stay, enjoy a lunch with your bros, and I’ll taxi home so you don’t need to worry about me.”

“What if I want to worry?” There was concern lingering in his deeply hooded gaze. “Let me take you home.”

“No, stay. I insist. I can see you another time.”

Even though I wanted him to drop the invite with his guy friends, I put my hand on his chest. It was warm, almost hot, and a dull thumping pounded beneath my palm. Like a magnet, it held my hand there.

There was something unreadable brewing behind his eyes. “I don’t want you to go, or for this day to end.”

My breath caught in my throat. “Oh?”

His voice lowered an octave, and the rumblings of it roared up my insides and drowned out the staccato of my heartbeat. “But I know you’ve spent enough time with Eric and Jesse too, so let’s go. Let me take you home.” He licked his lips. “Don’t make me beg to make sure you get home safely.”

As I rolled my gaze down from his eyes, over his cheeks, and settled upon his perfect set of rosy-red lips, I breathed out an affirmative. “Okay, let’s go.”

Feeling faint and slightly winded, and it had nothing to do with the beautiful day, I broke away from Landon and gave my respects to Eric and Jesse, before we drove the cart away and unloaded the clubs, our hands touching in a way that sent bolts of currents riveting up my arms and shocking my heart. Both of us stared as our fingers entwined.

With his free hand, he caressed the side of my cheek, stroking it with the pad of his thumb. Lowering it, he seductively teased my quivering lips with it while penetrating my soul as he gazed intently into it. Slowly, he placed a kiss upon my forehead, then beside my right eye, one on my cheek, and finally, his lips settled over mine. I was ready to explode right then and there in the parking lot of the Bear Meadows Golf Course.

“I’m all yours for the rest of the day.” I breathed out when we finally parted.

“Your place or mine?”

“Whatever is closer.”

We broke apart and jumped into our seats and within heartbeats, we were on the open road, hands on the other’s thighs – a promise of fun ahead.

It seemed my apartment was closer, and we arrived in less time than it took to get to the golf course originally. Leaving the clubs in the car, we dashed into the apartment, locking the door once we made it up the stairs and down the hall.

The door was barely latched before I threaded my fingers through his hair and pulled him close. “Kiss me like you did at the golf course.”

Once again, his hands cupped my cheeks, the pad of his thumb stroking across my lip, while he repeated the most sensuous prelude to a kiss I’d ever experienced. His lips hadn’t even touched mine, and my heart was thundering, my breath was extinguished, and the strongest fire grew deep within my core, radiating out to all my extremities. If this was a preview of what was to come, I was in big trouble.

I was already lighter than air and had he not had a solid hold of me, I would’ve floated away.

He brushed teasing kisses into the hollow of my neck between the open collar of my polo shirt.

“Allow me to take this off and make things easier,” I whispered into his ear and reached for his hand, walking backward with lust in my eyes as I pulled him into the bedroom.

In one easy movement, I yanked my polo off, revealing a totally bare chest to a jaw-dropping smirk.

“Well, that’s a first.”

I raised a brow. Bras were some sort of torture device, and my rack wasn’t huge enough to warrant anything to lift and cradle them. Let them be free. The guys were always surprised when they got to skip a step and could get right to the goods.

Clad only in my stockings and skort, I stood there taking in his eager gaze.
