Amber nodded. “You know, you won’t be able to keep this a secret. Word’s going to get around. I’m sure they’ve already noticed your extended absence.”

She beamed and snuggled into Mitch’s chest. “That’s okay. It’s over now. You can tell them.”

Amber descended the main stairs at the back of the yacht, searching for Antonio.

When she entered the living room area, all eyes focused on her, and the lively conversations ceased. Even the music volume lowered. She linked hands with Antonio and smiled, acting like nothing major has just happened.

Clearing her throat, she whispered into Antonio’s ear about the excitement going on above them, desperate to keep her voice low so as not to draw attention to Cedar and Mitch.

He bent down, a grin stretching from ear to ear, and kissed her softly. “Soon, our turn.”

Those words damn near echoed in the silent room.

Amber blazed brighter than a lighthouse beam. “Hey, that’s not how we were going to announce it.”

“What? Are you expecting?” Erin asked, looking around. No one else had raised the question after that not-so-whispered statement.

Antonio tipped his head to the audience who were all leaning forward with raptness and eagerness. “Tell now.”

“We’re due June 9th.”

Everyone clapped and came over to hug and congratulate them.

“I didn’t want to take away from anyone. This is Iris and Holden’s night, and now Cedar and Mitch’s.” She shrugged, and her cheeks tinted with a faint glow.

“It’s all good. Babies everywhere.” Erin laughed and quickly turned to David. “But not us. Not for a long while. Vera’s birth was hard enough.”

David nodded. “Agreed. We’re not there yet.”

“Ah, nope.”

Sitting at the table beside them, Zachary snuggled against Mia, resting his chin on her shoulder.

“What about us?” he whispered. “Do you think we’ll want babies?”

“Definitely, but not yet. I love having you all to myself. I don’t want to share you with anyone, just yet.” She cupped his face and kissed him, before resting her head on his shoulder.

“Best rejection I’ve ever heard.” Zachary squeezed her shoulder. “When you’re tired of me, then we’ll have all the babies.”

“I’ll never grow tired of you, but someday I’ll share. Just not in the foreseeable future.”

“Amber,” Erin called out. “Wait a sec. What do you mean this night is now Cedar and Mitch’s? Is she that sick?”

“Well,” she scanned the room, taking in each of her friends and guests. “I guess it’s not going to be much of a secret, but Cedar and Mitch just welcomed a healthy baby boy upstairs.”

The room applauded in another round of cheers.

“This is some night,” Jesse called out.

Amber walked over to where Libby had been swaying back and forth in time to the music with Landon. “Your sister would like you to come and meet your nephew but give her a few more minutes.”

Landon wrapped his arms around Libby, holding her close as he whispered in her ear. “You and your nephew share the same birthdate. That’s pretty special.”

“Yeah, that is really cool. My nephew. Wow.”

“You’ll both get fireworks.”

“Ohmygod, yes. Every year we’ll get to watch the fireworks together, and no doubt Lily will want to celebrate the half birthday and we’ll get fireworks then too.” She snuggled against him. “This has been the best way to welcome in the new year. It truly is everyone’s night.”
