The third house was a Tudor-revival mansion. It had been preserved with incredible detail, but that meant dark, ornate, heavy wood throughout. The windows all had decorative mullions, and while they were beautiful, they hindered the amount of light possible because of their size and location. Still, it was beautiful, with a yard and plenty of bedrooms. I kept it on the list of possibilities, just in case.

When we drove up to the last home—a fifteen thousand square foot limestone mansion on the Upper East Side, my jaw dropped. The small pictures in the flyer didn’t do its beauty justice. Though it was technically a townhouse, it was overly wide for a Manhattan residence and on a corner lot.

There was a swath of yard along the side street and a decent-sized backyard. It was five stories with eight bedrooms and large windows on every floor, making the whole place light and bright. Although the building dated back to the 1800s, the previous owners kept it as authentic to its origins as possible. They also made sure it had all the modern conveniences.

The place was absolutely charming. And there was an elevator, which I’d been adamant about if the house was more than two stories. I didn’t want Jenna navigating too many stairs with a pregnant belly or babies in her arms.

As I walked through the space, it felt luxurious and homey at the same time. I had a feeling my woman would love it as much as I did. I just needed to make sure.

In a stroke of luck, Jenna sent me a text that night asking if she could spend the following day at the hospital since there wasn’t any school. I had a busy day with patients and meetings, but I still asked her to meet me at my office. We had other “Cuddlers” scheduled for the day, but I knew Jenna would be just as happy helping out in the playroom of the children’s wing.

Since she would be there all day, I was hoping to be able to spend some time with her on a break. Or even better, I might be able to have lunch with her.

Fate must have been on my side because I ended up with a two-hour break. I found Jenna in an activity room with a handful of giggling toddlers. They sat in a half circle in front of her, except for the blond little girl snuggled into her lap.

Jenna held up a picture book, and I couldn’t hear what she was saying, but when she was done, all the kids let out peals of adorable laughter. My girl grinned, beaming happily at the little munchkins. The mental picture of her sitting around a playroom in our house, surrounded by our own little ones, filled me with warmth.

When I stepped fully into the room, Jenna glanced up. Her blue eyes danced merrily, and she smiled brightly. “Dr. Sutton! Have you come for story time?” Her tone was teasing, and I chuckled as I shook my head.

“I hope you guys won’t be too mad at me if I steal Jenna away for a little while.”

A few bottom lips popped out, and the little girl in Jenna’s lap stuck her thumb in her mouth as tears welled up in her eyes. Shit.

“I’ll bring her right back,” I promised. “But she won’t have enough energy to read you more stories if I don’t feed her.”

That seemed to make sense to a couple of them, and they nodded in understanding. “And Jenna need snack,” one little boy announced authoritatively.

“I think it’s nap time for you monsters anyway,” Jenna told them sweetly. “So promise me you’ll go to sleep without a fight, and I’ll come back afterward. I’ll even teach you guys a special game!”

All the little ones cheered, and a nurse, who’d been working at a desk across the room, smiled as she stood. “Hey, Dr. Sutton,” she greeted me as she walked toward the kids. I lifted my chin in response.

“Thanks, Jenna. These kids just adore you. I don’t know where they’ve been hiding you, but I hope you’ll volunteer in this department again.”

Jenna’s cheeks flushed, and her eyes sparkled. “I’d love to. I’ll be back this afternoon, but maybe I can talk to someone about splitting my time between here and the NICU.”

“Ahhhh, now I know why you’ve been selfishly guarded,” the nurse said with a laugh. “I’m sure you’re just magical with those sweet babies. Well, you’re welcome here any time.”

Jenna murmured her thanks, then blew kisses at the kids before making her way toward me. Her hips swayed enticingly, and my hands itched to hold them while I filled her with my cock over and over until she was carrying our little peanut.

“I wasn’t sure I’d see you today,” she said with a pleased smile. “I know your schedule was super packed.”

“Lucky for me, I had a few appointments that needed to be rescheduled, leaving me enough time to take you to lunch.” I chuckled and placed my hand on the small of her back as I guided her down the hall. “Well, perhaps I should have said ‘order lunch’...unless you have an affinity for cafeteria food.”

Jenna giggled, and I gritted my teeth against the blood that rushed to my groin, making my cock pulse painfully. “Ordering in sounds perfect.”

CHASE

“Ididn’t know you were from Jersey,” Jenna mock gasped, ruining the effect when she burst into laughter.

“Hardy har,” I muttered dryly. It was a running joke that New Yorkers looked down on people from New Jersey. Well…sometimes it was a joke.

We’d gone back to my office and ordered Chinese food, then I’d maneuvered our conversation into the “getting to know you” area. Which was when I mentioned growing up in Central Jersey.

“You know why New Yorkers are so depressed, don’t you?”

I narrowed my eyes and set down my chopsticks, crossing my arms over my chest. It didn’t escape my notice when her gaze was drawn to my muscular biceps, and her pupils dilated. “Why?”
