"Because I'm fucking sick and tired of taking that man's orders. He wanted me to leave you there with him. What was I supposed to do?" he grits out, tightening his hold on me. "I will never willingly give you up to that man." He stops abruptly when he pulls us through a large red curtain and shoves me into the backstage area. "He left scars on your body, Little Chaos." His eyes fall to the front of my dress where my tattoo sits on display for the whole world to see. It took a lot of convincing in the form of orgasms to even get me comfortable with showing off my scar. "He hurt you. He's hurt your sister. He's fucked us all over. I'm not letting him harm you again," he murmurs, shaking his head. "I'd never leave you with Satan himself."

My fingers rub gently down his smooth jaw as I look into his dark eyes. Tears shimmer in my vision when he pulls me close.

"No one has ever protected me like you have," I murmur, leaning in until my lips press into his.

"Until my last breath, Little Chaos. This may seem unconventional to you. But you're my wife…"

"Not by choice, though," Arrow says, putting his arms around our shoulders. "Right, Kitten? You remember that, right? How he married you without your consent?"

"I also remember someone drugging me. Twice. And removing my birth control without asking," I say, tilting my head when a red blush crosses his cheeks.

"Ah—well," he murmurs.

Another set of heavy arms comes over my shoulders and Jericho’s, as the four of us stand together.

"Stay back here, okay? We'll be right out there," Jericho demands. “Then, we’ll disappear. I don’t trust him not to pull something tonight.”

"Sit on the steps so we can see you every step of the way," Arrow demands, pointing toward a small set of stairs.

Outside the party, the music cuts off, and a loud, booming voice comes over the microphone. The crowd cheers and clasps at the sound of the foreign voice.

"Who is that?" Arrow questions, tilting his head to get a better listen.

"Probably one of the higher-up cousins. I swear the man invited everyone from every corner of California," Jericho says, listening to the voice talking about the wonderful evening, and then, he announces their names.

"That's our cue," Jericho says, kissing me one last time. "Be a good Little Chaos," he hums against my lips before pulling away.

“I always am,” I jokingly say, crossing my arms. “What are you doing?”

“It’s take your shirt off time, Kitten,” Arrow says with a grin, shrugging out of his suit jacket. Without a care, he rips through the buttons of his undershirt and then loosens his tie, throwing them all to the side. “But you keep yours on.” Arrow points a finger at me with demand.

Jericho maintains eye contact when he takes his suit jacket off, hanging it on the railing of the stairs and then loosens his tie. “This is part of the family tradition. We’ve done our blood oath, proving to my father and his bosses that we’re all in. Now, we’re to prove to the rest of the Viotto Crime family in attendance that we’ve promised to dedicate our lives to them and our citizens.”

Arrow bounces on his toes, clapping his hands a few times as more cheers erupt from in front of the stage.

“You hear that, Kitten? They’re chanting for us to show ourselves. They’re just as excited as we are.”

Shepp doesn't say a word or sign something to me when he steals a kiss too, staring deep into my eyes before he steps back and undresses as well, leaving the three of them in only their dress pants, socks, and shoes.

Their family mark rests between their pecs, fully healed from when they were injured.

"Go get ’em tigers," I say, pushing the three of them away.

“At the first sign of danger, I want you to hide,” Jericho instructs, leading me to the steps and forcing me to stand on them. “This won’t take but a few minutes. Be a good girl.” Worry rests in his eyes when I give him a firm nod.

“Of course. I’ll stay right here, please don’t worry.” I can handle myself against my monster. He’s trained me well, after all. Even more so against him.

“I’m going to regret this,” Jericho grumbles. “I should throw you over my shoulder and bring you on stage.”

“Go,” I say, shooing them until their shoes touch the edge of the stage. The crowd goes wild as the announcer says their names one more time, and they wave to the adoring crowd.

I swallow hard, standing on the last step, watching the men line up on stage. A whole ceremony commences in front of my eyes in celebration of their manhood. It’s like some sort of cult watching them with heart eyes and shouting out their congratulations. I clap along with the crowd, losing myself in their honor.

It isn’t until the tell-tale footsteps of my monster stepping up behind me that I realize it’s pure happiness floating inside me. Despite all the shit they’ve done to me, they’ve brought me a sliver of freedom. Something I never thought I’d have again, especially under Gabriel’s thumb. And I can’t thank them enough.

Besides, I kind of like the guys. Even the one who took my birth control out without my permission. He’s a little wild and will definitely pay for what he’s done.

“My, my, Little Snake,” Gabriel says, coming to stand beside me, watching the festivities on stage like he’s never seen it before. “You’ve gotten yourself into quite the situation, haven’t you?” He raises a brow, turning his attention to me.
