“I think I will. You keep disobeying me.”

Loki watched him closely.

“Have you got a gag? Maybe a silk scarf?” He aimed the question at Loki, not Isa.

Loki looked at Isa. “You’ve talked about limits?”

“No. Good point.” And another sign that Loki might be a Dom. “Baby? Is gagging a hard limit?”

She seemed to think about that before her shoulders slumped and she shook her head.

“Good.”

“I have something that might work.” Loki walked off, still frowning, thinking.

“What are you doing?” Isa asked him quietly.

“Do you trust me, baby? Do you trust that I want what’s best for us?”

He knew it wasn’t fair to press her like this. She hadn’t known him long enough to trust him like that.

But he really wanted her to trust him.

“I . . . I think you want to take care of me. And you said you’d uncomplicate things. Although this feels very complicated. But . . . I’ll trust you.”

God. This girl.

She was everything.

“I’m getting us all what we want. Just keep the faith, baby.”

Loki walked back in, carrying what looked like a soft blanket with the head of a teddy bear attached in the middle of the blanket. There was a pacifier attached to the blanket.

Loki stared at him for a long moment, obviously trying to see how he would react.

“Good plan. A gag without it being an actual gag.” He nodded to Isa, and Loki handed her the pacifier.

Isa was bright red, but she took it without a word, putting the pacifier into her mouth and sucking.

“So you don’t deserve her and you don’t trust yourself,” Remy repeated Loki’s words.

Loki flinched and looked away. “I’m too fucking volatile too. My brain . . . sometimes I don’t always think before I do stuff. I won’t risk Isa. I’d never risk her.”

She stared up at Loki with wide eyes. They had a sheen to them, but she didn’t let the tears fall.

Loki turned to glare at Remy. “I wasn’t there for her after the accident. Which is just more proof that I can’t be what she needs. So I’ve tried to step back. I let you take her out to dinner. I encouraged her to go. I’ve tried to be the better person. To give her what she needs.”

“Which is?”

“Someone stable. A Daddy Dom who will take care of her Little. Cherish and protect her. But I’m too fucking selfish. She’s mine.” The words were spat at Remy.

“She’s mine too.” Remy said the words calmly. He let them settle in the room.

He didn’t look at Isa. If he did, he’d relent and let her speak and this next part needed to be said.

“And I think we can both say that this is tearing her apart. Both of us wanting her. Her wanting us back. She feels guilty, like she’s betraying you. And hurting me. And that’s not acceptable.”

Loki’s eyes went wide as Isa made a sad, soft noise.
