“Are you upset?” Her lip was trembling and he realized he’d been quiet too long.
“No, baby. Fuck. Of course not. Just thinking about all the ways I want to have you.”
She gave him a small smile. “It just happened . . . you don’t feel left out, do you? Like we did it behind your back?”
“Isabelle, no,” he said firmly, not liking the way she was wringing her hands together. “I don’t feel like that at all. I expected this. Do I wish I was with you? Of course I do. But I am happy for you. Unless he didn’t make it good for you?”
“What? Of course he did!”
He grinned to let her know he’d been joking.
“Get your pajamas on and brush your teeth and I’ll put you to bed.”
“But it’s only nine, Daddy!”
“Thought I could read you a bedtime story.” He held up a book for her to see.
“Is that . . . is that . . .?”
“A CJ Bennett book hot off the press? Yep.”
“I haven’t had a chance to even buy it yet.”
“Well, if you want the story, you better hop to it and get ready for bed.”
“Daddy, are you sure you can manage to read it? I mean . . . all those words.”
“Hurry, brat. Before I change my mind and text Loki to spank you instead.”
She squealed and rushed off.
Happiness filled him. This wasn’t perfect. But for now . . . it was right.

Isa had never beennervous about a quiz night before.
But walking in with Loki and Remy . . . it was about making a statement and she knew her friends would freak.
In a good way.
She hoped.
Stepping into the room, no one noticed them to begin with. Then people would give them a second look, taking in the tight hold she had on Loki’s hand.
The hand Remy had on the back of her neck.
They parted to give them way. It could be because of her guys’ size or because they were all in shock.
As they made their way to her table, everyone stopped talking to stare at her in shock.
They were all here. Her girls. With their men at the table behind them.
“I’m not gonna have to sit at the Daddy table, am I?” Loki teased her quietly.
No doubt he’d felt her tension.
“Relax, baby,” Remy told her. “We won’t let anyone hurt you.”
