“Wow,” he mutters, running one hand through his hair. “You kept that?”

“I had to, I had to keep anything I had left of you,” I whisper.

Taking the post it from my hand, he leans in and presses his lips softly to mine. “I’m not going anywhere babygirl,” and when he pulls away, I know I’m grinning ear to ear. I don’t need the scraps of our past anymore, because I have him.

Setting the note down on the bed, he opens the tube of ointment and dabs some on my skin. Securing a new bandage in place, he looks up and catches my expression.

“What?” he asks.

“Nothing,” I smile.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.”

Leaning in he presses his lips to mine and steals my breath.

“Breakfast?” he asks in between kisses.

“Coffee,” I murmur.

Pulling away, he stands up and scoops me into his arms.

“I can walk you know,” I laugh.

“Yeah, but I don’t want to stop touching you.”

Wrapping my arms around his neck, I nuzzle my face into his chest. Carrying me down the steps, he walks past the kitchen, carrying me into the living room. Settling me down on the oversized, plush beige couch, I sink in and relax. Kissing me on the top of my head, he walks away and I stretch out my sore, aching limbs.

In a few minutes he comes back with a cup of coffee for me, and sits down next to me, pulling my legs into his lap. Bringing the piping hot mug up to my lips, I sip the hot coffee and release a sweet moan when Travis picks up my foot, kneading it in his hands.

“So I was thinking,” he starts off.

“Mmmhmmm,” I respond, closing my eyes and taking another sip of coffee.

“The club has an event tomorrow night. Masquerade night. Riot put it together. I want you to come with me.”

I choke on my coffee, sputtering back into my cup.

“Isn’t it a strip club?”

“And?” Travis smiles at me.

“I’m not sure watching women get naked is my thing.”

“But it would get you out of this house, no one would see you because you could come in a mask. So it’s safe.”

He digs his knuckle into the arch of my foot and I let out an uncontrollable groan, hiding my embarrassment behind the coffee mug.

“Come on red,” he pleads, sliding his hands up my legs slowly. “You can get dressed all sexy, enjoy the music,” his hands massage my thighs, “have a few drinks.”

“Even if I wanted to go… I don’t have anything to wear.”

“Well, I have some prep to do today, Riot can take you shopping again. His car is completely blacked out. He can drive you to the next city over. Opposite direction of Silversun Valley, no one will know who you are.”

I mull it over. Knowing I’m going to be cooped up for the foreseeable future until we solve the Grant issue, it doesn’t sound so bad.

“Ok, I’m in.”
