Honestly, I don’t know why I’m going there, why I’m opening that door. But I can’t pump the brakes now. We can never be anything real, but I need to have more of him. I need to bury myself beneath his skin and make myself at home. Even if it can only be temporary like every home before.

“I - I,”

“Come on, Riot, why me?”

“We need the best of the best, Zeke,” he sighs. “That’s you and you know it.”

“You also know my price.”

“We can… We can see where it goes, but I’m not promising anything,” he responds with a flustered tone in his voice.

Riot deals drugs, has murdered men, and works for a feared organization; but he has this goofy exterior that he uses as a shield to keep the world at arms length and I want to break through it. I want to be the only thing inside his orbit.

“Tonight, baby boy. Tonight, I wreck you.”

His gulp is audible through the phone, and damn if it doesn’t go directly to my cock.

The chiming of the bell above the shop door catches my attention just as I finish sanitizing the chair.

“Hey,” Riot says, clearing his throat and making his way over to where I stand. He’s being weird and squirrely and I don’t like it. So I reach out and grip the front of his hooded sweatshirt, still cold from the winter air, dragging his body against mine, and I plant my lips firmly on his.

His resolve softens as he parts his lips and my tongue explores the inside of his mouth, one of my favorite places to be. My fingers, my cock, my tongue. It doesn’t matter. I just want to fucking live inside of him.

Aching to tear his clothes off and fuck him right in this chair, it takes all my willpower to hold myself back. I’m trying to keep my head straight because he’s here on business, so I slow my lips and finally, I reluctantly pull away.

“Come on,” I smirk, allowing my grip to slide down his chest until I’m close enough to reach out and grab his hand. Lacing his fingers with mine, I turn and lead him back to my office.

Opening the door, I flop into the chair, and he settles onto the small couch against the wall.

“So what’s this about the security at Rico’s?” I ask.

“Well, Travis is concerned about Spencer’s very public connection to the organization through him, and he wants her protected. After that drive by last week, he’s on high alert, so he wants a high end system put in.”

“How high end are we talking?” I ask, rubbing my chin.

“I think he’s looking for you to hook it up the way you did with Afterlife if possible.”

“Yeah, yeah, I think I can do that. We could get cameras in each corner, ensuring no viewpoint is left uncovered, and find a space for a panic room. All app-controlled. I’ll need to start shopping around though ASAP.”

He nods his head and I try to avert my eyes from his gaze, but he catches me and pulls me under.

“I need to get in there to figure out all the potential camera locations, and see the layout I’m working with as far as the bar area, the back rooms, and the exterior of the building.”

“Right, yeah. I’m meeting up with Spencer for drinks later so I’ll talk to her then? I’m thinking tomorrow night should be good though.”

“Okay, yeah. Sounds good.”

“Okay, well I better get out of here then,” Riot starts as he pushes to his feet.

“Hey, want to come up for a bit? I’m almost done cleaning my station.”

Stepping forward, he grabs my hand in his and brings it to his chest, tracing his fingers down the back of my hand.

“What are we doing here, Zeke?” his voice is low and gravely, and instead of looking me in the eyes, his gaze lingers down at the space between us.

“Having fun,” I grin, reaching out and running my thumb across his bottom lip. “Lots, and lots of fun.”

Closing the emptiness between us, I allow my hand to drift down to his waist, slipping my fingers between his jeans and the hard curves of his abdomen.
