“Uh, miss. Thiswill look horrible on you.”
“That is theidea. My sister should have all eyes on that day. Don’t youagree?”
“She willcertainly have all of my attention.” Akio’s voice spoke from insidethe shop.
Sariah let outa happy laugh and walked up to him for a kiss. It seemed thatIvetha’s sister had lost all hesitation when it came to herhusband. She didn’t blame her. Their lives had been fairly lonely.Companionship was comfort.
Akio kept hisarm around Sariah. “I didn’t know you spoke Ekovarian.”
Ivethashrugged. “You never asked.” She swayed violently and made her wayto one of the support posts. She leaned against it.
Sariah was ather side. “Ivy, what is it?”
“Just a littledelicate. Still building my strength. Just need a moment, and I canhead back to the castle or whatever.” Ivetha smiled. “I will headout, and you and Akio can go for dinner or something.”
Akio frowned.“You don’t look well.”
“That’s part ofmy natural charm. Shoo.” She waved them off. “Go.”
Akio slowlysteered her sister out of the shop.
Ivetha hunkereddown in her pretty skirt. She looked at the shopkeeper. “I am verysorry about this, and I didn’t mean to embarrass your friends.”
The womanfrowned. “Are you ill?”
“No. Just weak.Just excited to be on the island.” She breathed for a moment untilshe felt stronger.
“Did the kingreally teach you how to arrange your clothing?”
“Yeah. Okay, Ihave enough energy to make it.”
“Are yousure?”
“Prettysure.”
“Can I get yousomething to drink? Miss, you look very pale.”
“If there iswater, and it wouldn’t put you out...” Ivetha felt horrible forasking.
“Let’s get youto a seat in the shade, and I will see what I can find foryou.”
The shopkeeperhelped her to her feet, and Ivetha was walked to a bench in thearea near some shade trees and settled down. “I will be right back,miss.”
“Ivetha.”
The older womansmiled. “Ivetha. I am Tuurin.”
“Pleased tomeet you, Tuurin.”
“Stay put,little chicken.”
Ivetha laughedand sat quietly. Eventually, she got the attention of the locals,and then she was surrounded.

Arata heard Akio in thehallway with Sariah, and he went out to see how Ivetha had enjoyedher trip to town. She wasn’t with them.
He looked athis brother. Where is she?
