Hunter surged forward, as did Kane and Thomas.

There was no way they were getting out of this alive.

I knew that…and so did Coulter.

TWENTY-SEVEN

Riven

The bastard decided to drag her from the room even before he moved. I saw the moment he decided that. That flicker of hunger ignited like a fucking bonfire on the 4th of July.

The guard beside him took a step forward as the bleeding bastard on the ground in front of me pushed himself upwards on shaking legs and tossed the processing unit through the air for Coulter’s man to catch it.

It was all they wanted.

“No.” Hunter’s growl was a husky bark as he drove himself forward.

But it was all too late.

I knew that, still agony ripped through me as Coulter yanked her backwards.

“No...NO!” I bellowed, shoving the asshole in my hands away as I lunged toward them.

“Riven!” She screamed for me, her scream muffled under his hand.

I was losing her again. Failing her AGAIN!

I swallowed down that howling rage and forced my gaze to her wide, panicked stare. I’ll find you, I mouthed the words. I. Will. Find. You.

Then she was gone, stumbling backwards as the guard dragged her away from me.

But at the last second, I shifted my focus, burning that dead motherfucker’s face into my mind. “I’m going to KILL YOU!” I hit the door as it closed with a thud.

My fists were brutal, slamming against the door before I drove my shoulder into the damn thing. “DO YOU HEAR ME? I’M GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU!”

Rage rippled through me, plunging me all the way into that empty abyss. The one where I’d lived most of my goddamn life.

I’ll fucking kill you.

I turned around, finding Coulter’s men coming for me.

I will fucking KILL YOU ALL!

Coulter’s men descended with fury and roars. I was grabbed by the biggest of them. His blow caught me on the side of the face, knocking me sideways until I slammed into the door. My breath flew out of me with a whoosh.

A second, that’s all it took before I shoved against that door. I took his fist, swallowed down his blows, and all the time that seething, howling rage bellowed inside.

I turned to that big bastard as he grinned and came for me. My brothers’ screams filled the room. I sidestepped his blow, swinging my fist across my chest to connect with him…until I was charged from behind.

One on one was one thing, but two of them?

Bring it on…

I shoved against the wall and stepped to the side, fixing my gaze on both of them. “You’re going to die in this room. You get that, right?” I muttered.

Then the fast one lunged, driving me sideways as the big bastard swung. I dodged one, driving myself close enough to drive my knuckles into his side. The big bastard gave a grunt, then doubled over. It was all I needed. I swing my fist, ramming it through the air to connect with the underside of his chin.

His head snapped backwards, but it didn’t matter. I was hit from the side, my feet lifting from the floor before I was slammed down.
