“Get to Ryth.” Vivienne’s dull words filled my ears.

She looked at Helene. Her sister lowered her hands and stumbled forward.

“Whatever you do, get to Ryth.”

Helene glanced at the doctors. “I’m not going anywhere. Not now. I’ll be right here. We don’t even know where they are.”

“Sisters of Mercy Private Hospital,” DeLuca said and glanced at London.

There was a murderous gleam in the bastard’s eye as he nodded, encouraging the doctor to continue.

“Floor five. You’ll see them immediately. They’ll be the ones surrounded by armed guards.”

Helene glanced his way. “Who?”

“The Rossis.” DeLuca answered, glancing at his companion. “Who else do you think sent us.”

The Rossis? They were a dangerous family. Not one to who align themselves to another. Not unless they were blood…or the closest thing to it.

“We’re going to need to induce,” the female doctor said carefully.

“No.” Vivienne shook her head. “It’s too early. Two more weeks, that’s what you said, right, DeLuca? Two weeks.”

“Only if it was safe,” He answered.

Vivienne looked to Colt, who lowered himself back down, rubbing his face against her belly. Her fingers slid through his hair, pressing his head against her. “Then we’ll make it so it is safe.” She looked to London. “Make it safe, London. Make it safe for us.”

I’d never seen a man more murderous as I did in that moment. Not even the Devil himself would want to stand in that male’s way. If Hale wasn’t the Devil, then he was the closest goddamn thing to it.

“Get to Ryth, make sure she’s okay.” Vivienne turned back to Helene. “Promise me.”

Helene gave a slow nod. “I promise.”

There were clothes waiting for us when we left the room. There was a shirt for me and what looked like Vivienne’s clothes for Helene. She took them from Guild and gave him a soft smile before she hurried for her sister’s room to change.

I tugged the clean shirt on, watching until Helene appeared a few minutes later. She hadn’t showered, but she’d taken the time to wash the blood splatter from her face.

“Ready?” I asked.

She gave a nod, then strode toward Guild before wrapping her arms around him. I fought that cold, deadly hunger inside me. The one which had driven me to hunt down a complete stranger and murder him in cold blood just because she gave me his name.

His fucking name.

I still saw that look of pure terror as I lifted my gun and took aim.

“Thank you,” Helene said quietly. “Thank you for taking care of my sister.”

The bodyguard didn’t move. He just stood there, his arms trapped by his sides, unable to hug her back, even if he’d wanted to. The wounded look on his face told me he didn’t.

She didn’t expect one, just pulled away and strode toward the door.

He didn’t look at me, not even when my brothers headed after her, leaving me to walk behind.

I stopped alongside him. “You want to blame someone? Blame Hale. Blame my sister. But do not blame yourself. This had nothing to do with you, and everything to do with them.”

I’d taken a step, heading for the door, when he quietly said, “I’ll kill them. I just want you to know that.”

“Not if I kill them first.” I answered, and headed out the door.
