I surged forward as all four men lunged.

“What the fuck?” One of the guards roared, pushing upwards.

We attacked, rushing forward and lunging. I drove toward the guard sitting on the floor, yanking parts of the server open. He gripped the heavy metal case and shoved upward against the floor, only to swing it like a weapon at Riven.

The fuck you do!

Rage was the power I needed to carve through the murky haze of what remained of the drug in my system. I lunged, grabbing his hands and kept driving him around, using his own momentum against him, before I lifted my foot and drove it sideways against his knee.

Crack!

The impact was brutal, sending him crashing back to the floor. His screams were deafening as he dropped the CPU and grabbed his knee. “YOU FUCKING BITCH!”

I bent down, snatched the case from the floor beside him, and straightened. “That’s right.” I swung the metal device across my body and raised it into the air. “I am the bitch you tried to destroy.”

One heave and I brought it down with all the strength I had. The CPU impacted the side of his head, slamming him into the wall. He slid down silently, blood streaming from his head as grunts and the sounds of brutal blows echoed all around me.

I swung around to find Hunter wrestling with the largest of them as another one who fought Thomas went for his gun.

“The fuck you do!” I screamed and lunged, swinging the CPU like a weapon once more.

Crunch.

Thud.

Thud.

Hunter unleashed a scream as I swung the device, driving it down on the guard’s hand which gripped the gun. The weapon flew from his hand as Thomas unleashed a roar, slammed into him, and drove the guard backwards.

I bent down, grabbed the gun, and lifted it with shaking hands, stepping backwards as I scanned the room. “Stop…sto—” A hand clamped over my mouth.

I was yanked backwards against a hard chest.

“Now I know you don’t want to squeeze that trigger, Helene.” Coulter’s voice filled my ears as he reached out and grasped my hand which held the gun. “You might just shoot someone you love.”

He pulled it to the side, taking aim at Riven as his finger slipped around mine, curled around the trigger.

“Do what I say and no one gets hurt.”

Riven spun, his dark eyes widening as he fixed on me.

My knees trembled. My body froze.

I shook my head.

No…this can’t be happening.

As Coulter’s men stepped around us, I dropped the CPU in my hand.

“We always seem to be interrupted.” His breath was warm against my ear. “I believe the bid was still mine at four million dollars.”

“Get the fuck off her!” Riven roared as he lunged forward.

But Coulter’s men were there, driving a gun against his head.

“Please, try your best.” Coulter urged. “I’d love nothing more than to splatter your brains all over this room.”

“No.” I shook my head as fear filled me. “Don’t kill them.” I begged, staring at the four men I loved. “Please…please don’t kill them.”
