“Hey, Leo, it’s Tania. The gym owner.”Oh my God, I sounded like an idiot.

“Tania! The witch who’s gonna save our family. How you doin’?”

I giggled, then rolled my eyes, annoyed that this man turned me into some sort of stupid teenage girl.“We’re good.I’m at my mom’s new place and we were wondering when we could meet your parents.”

It was weird to think that Leo and Mason’s parents were wolves, but I was going to be face to face with them soon enough, so I needed to wrap my head around the idea pretty fast.

“Mase and I are at work at the moment, but we asked our parents to stay at our place all day today, so we’d be ready to meet you whenever you called.”

“Oh great.Well, how do you want to do this?”I asked.

“We’re just in the middle of tiling a bathroom, but if you can come to meet us around one p.m., would that suit?”

I glanced at my mom, who was listening in and nodding.“Yeah, we can do that. You want us to come to your place?”

Leo chuckled.“Well, not really. Our place is a dump.We put all our energy and money into our business, so we don’t really want you seeing our townhouse. It’s not a good advertisement for our work, or who we are or anything. So please, don’t judge us by that.”

A flush of heat bloomed in my cheeks. He was worried about what I would think about him and Mason’s home?Really?

“Don’t be silly,” I said.“I’m there to help, no other reason.”

“Great! We were thinking we could meet in the forest, at a neutral spot, but it’s not really safe for them to roam during the day.If you’re okay with coming to our place, despite the mess…”

“I am,” I said firmly, wanting to reassure him.

“Okay, Then they’ll be in the back yard.”

“It’s no issue.Text me the address and we’ll see you there at one.”

“Great. Thanks heaps,” Leo said, then he hung up.

I smiled at the happiness in his voice. He was sunshine while Mason felt like… a storm.A fiery storm at that.I tried not to think about the fact he’d almost kissed me last night, even though I was pretty sure the topic would come up when I saw him again.

I had no idea how I was going to handle that.

“What’s happening with you and the wolves?”

I turned to look at Mom, her question surprising me.“Me and the wolves? What do you mean?”

She nodded.“Yes.Your energy changes when you speak with either of them. And in the gym they both looked at you like they were going to devour you.And not in a food kind of way.”

The heat blossomed into a full-blown furnace in my cheeks.“Oh, don’t be silly, Mom.”

She stepped forward and gripped my hand.“I’m not being silly. They both want you, Tania. And I know you can’t even imagine…”

I was already stepping out of her touching zone and going back to the spell book.“Mom.Men like that don’t date women like me.”

“You mean wolf shifters don’t date witches?”

This time I glared at her, which I didn’t like to do with my mom, but I couldn’t help it.“You know what I mean.”

“No, I don’t, Tania.”She snapped back at me.“You’re a hardworking, intelligent business owner.You’re young.You’re beautiful.You’re a catch!”

I groaned and dropped my head, staring at the magic book.“You’re my mom, so you have to say those things.”

I could feel the intensity of her gaze on me and didn’t want to lift my head and deal with it.Mom loved Dad’s large size, and she transferred that love to me and my curves. But for most of my life I’d been called fat by men and women alike, rejected by boyfriends for my size, and refused jobs by employers who didn’t want to hire the big girl.

There was nothing my mom could say that was going to make me think that two sexy, muscular wolf shifters would ever want a woman like me.Not for a date, or anything like that. For my magic?Yeah… I could imagine that. But nothing else.
