My hand slid over his roughened jaw and drew him closer. Our lips met like a soft prayer, then turned into a ravenous kiss.

His tongue plundered my mouth and his hand gripped my body, holding me as close as possible.

How had I ever thought that what he felt for me was wrong, or fake?Being in Mason’s arms now was like coming home, but to a home I’d never known before.A beautiful home I’d only dreamed of, full of comfort and love.

When the door opened, I pulled away and stared up at the group looking in at us.“Um… we’ll be out in a minute.”

The door shut again and I stared at Mason’s gorgeous face. His eyes had changed a little and I could now see the hurt inside.

“I didn’t mean to upset you.I’m sorry,” I said again.

He nodded, sniffing and wiping his face.“I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t come back.”

“Come back?”I repeated as we got to our feet and dusted off our knees.

He nodded.“Yeah, I lay with you on the ground while Leo went for your parents and you were gone.I couldn’t feel you anymore.”

I sighed and reached up to cup Mason’s face once more.He turned into my caress and my heart ached with the love I now shared with him.

“Iwasgone.I saw Harry, actually. My friend who died.”

I had to tell them the truth.“I need to tell you something, but not just you and Leo.Mom and Dad as well.”

Mason stepped toward the door, “I fetched our parents for you to talk to as well, to reassure you that the fated mate link isn’t magic, or force, or anything like it.”

“I know,” I said, stepping toward him, “But it’ll be nice to see them too.”

I reached for the door handle and opened the door.It was time to step up and explain why I’d been acting so small and so ashamed regarding the new magic I had.

It was time to tell the truth about Harry, the genie, and the magic that I’d never had before now.

ChapterTwenty-Five

TANIA

Mom transported us all back to my parents’ new house.Once Ariel and Max had arrived my apartment was like a tin of sardines. It had never been designed to house four wolf shifters, two witches and the largest warlock of all time.

“Would anyone like a drink or something to eat?”Mom asked as we settled in her new sitting room.

The couches were antique and exquisite, and the room itself had been painted in a gorgeous green.

“Some sandwiches would be great love,” Dad responded.

He was never going to turn down food from my mother, which was handy as I was pretty sure none of the wolves were comfortable enough to ask for anything, even if they were starving.

Mom waved her hands over the large ornate coffee table in the middle of the room.Within moments the table was filled with platters of sandwiches and cakes.

“Thanks,” Dad said, sliding forward to grab a couple.

Mason’s dad grabbed one also, as did Leo.

I smiled at my dad in thanks for his ability to make everyone feel at ease.

“How are you feeling now, dear?”Ariel, Mason and Leo’s mom, asked.

I reached out for the mug of tea my mom was handing me, knowing it was steeped in magic, probably for healing and stress.“Thanks, Mom.I’m feeling much better now, Ariel, thank you.”

Ariel smiled shyly.“You’re my sons’ fated mate.In time I hope you’ll call me Mama also.I’ve always wanted a daughter.”
