He shrugged his shoulders and leaned back in his chair, rocking back and forth. “Well, either way, it’s better that you start your career without any broad holding you down. Just think about how many chicks you’re gonna bang once the season starts.”

That had been my original thought when I decided to go pro. Traveling the country and playing in different states made me see stars since it’d carry my Bedroom King status well into my twenties. But now that I’d experienced being in a relationship, albeit a short one, that’s all I wanted. The thought of being a man-whore again just wasn’t appealing.

But among other things, I’d keep that piece of information away from Aiden. “Eh, that’s too far into the future for me right now. Plus, who knows what will happen.”

“You’re right. Now that you’re a free man, you can go back to your Bedroom King ways. And you should probably start with that blonde at the bar, or maybe Justine at the health food store. She’s been asking about you.”

Aiden could talk all day about girls and sex, and, quite frankly, it was getting old. However, hearing the word food made my stomach growl.

“Yeah, maybe. Wanna get something to eat?”

He spun back around in his chair to face his computer. “Can’t. Gotta finish this graphic design assignment. But steer clear of Lenny’s.”

“Why?”

Aiden spun back around, surprised that I didn’t know. “You didn’t hear? That’s where Isabella’s working now. She waited on a bunch of our brothers earlier this week.”

I should have known that’s where Isabella would apply for a job, now that she was no longer my tutor. Her schedule was too busy to be on her feet all the damn time, waiting on tables and hoping they’d leave her a decent tip. I needed Isabella back in my life, even if I could only get her as my tutor. And not because I wanted her to help me pass.

Because making sure she had her bills paid was the least I could do for treating her so poorly the other day.

Driving in my red sports car felt lonely without her sitting next to me, running my hands between her thighs as I dipped in and out of traffic. I knew where I was headed the second I hit the gas pedal, too, keeping my eyes on the road until I pulled into Lenny’s parking lot.

It would be the first time I would see Isabella since our big fight the other day, and she had every reason to run from me. Hell, she might even have me permanently banned from the establishment.

I had to at least try, though.

The hostess greeted me with a warm, welcoming smile and a menu.

“Good afternoon, sir. Table for one?”

“Yeah. Can I sit in Isabella’s section?”
