“Westwood’s,” I said.

“Yep. Have you ever been there?” he asked.

I shook my head. “Believe it or not, I haven’t. I don’t know why I didn’t even think about visiting there.”

Westwood’s, as it was commonly referred to, was actually The Westwood Company. It was one of the world’s largest confectioners. There was a wide variety of products they offered, but the bread and butter—the thing that made them who they were—was the chocolate.

I’d consumed the chocolate and candy they produced throughout the course of my life, but I’d never managed to visit. And Westwood’s, offering tours of their chocolate factory, having a museum, and more, was a place people probably should visit at least once in their life.

Having gotten sidetracked thinking about how I might need to venture off to Landing, Pennsylvania before making any final decisions, I remained silent for far too long. That’s when Forrest’s voice broke the silence.

“So, I have an idea,” he announced.

“What’s that?” I asked.

“We’ll see how your foot is feeling tomorrow. Even if you can lose the crutches, I don’t think you’re going to be ready to hop back on a snowboard just yet. I say we take the next two days to do a little exploring around the area. We can spend one day here in Scarlet Valley, and we can spend another day taking a trip to Landing, so we can take a trip to Westwood’s.”

My lips parted in shock. “Really? You wouldn’t mind doing that? Nothing would make me happier than to take a trip there.”

Forrest grinned at me before his voice dipped low with his promise. “Then we’re going to make that happen for you, Daisy.”

Yep.

This man wasn’t making it easy for me to fight the pull I felt to him, and it was beginning to go beyond the physical attraction.

“I’d love to go there tomorrow,” I whispered.

“Then I’ll take you. Now, how’s the foot feeling?”

“I’m surprised. It feels great. It’s my shoulders and arms that probably need the ice at this point.”

His brows pulled together, and concern washed over his expression. “Is that from using some muscles with those crutches that you don’t normally use?”

“I think so.”

Without hesitating, Forrest stood from the couch, walked toward me, and shifted himself behind the arm of the couch where my back was resting. A moment later, I felt his hands come to rest on the top of my shoulders. “How about I give you a little massage before I make dinner?”

I swallowed hard, loving the way it felt to have his hands on me. “That sounds wonderful.”

The next thing I knew, I was struggling to hold back my moans. Forrest’s hands were strong and capable. Unless I’d gone to a spa and paid for it, I’d never been given a massage. And I was inclined to say what he was doing was even better than the ones I’d paid for.

He worked my sore, tired muscles for quite some time. And though I wasn’t quite ready for it to end, I couldn’t say I was disappointed when he suddenly stopped. He kept his hands on my shoulders, shifted his body back around to the front of the couch, and sat down on the edge of it, right beside my hip.

“Does that feel better?” he asked.

My eyes roamed over his handsome face as something took hold inside of me. Forrest was the sweetest, most attentive man I’d ever met. He’d been nothing but kind and caring, and I felt like I was reaping all these wonderful rewards without him getting a single thing.

Forrest deserved something.

Before I could tell myself I was crazy for thinking that, I answered his question. Sitting up straighter, I said, “It was incredible. Honestly, I’ve paid for full body massages that didn’t even come close to what you just did.”

He seemed amused by my response. “Are you joking with me?”

I shook my head slowly, leaning my torso in his direction as one of my palms went to his chest. “Not at all,” I whispered.

The moment my hand was on him, something darkened in his gaze, and one of his hands slid from my shoulder to the side of my neck. Once there, his thumb stroked gently over the skin at the front of my throat.

My lips parted slightly, and the next thing I knew, I begged, “Kiss me, Forrest.”
