Ever eager to please, Forrest did not hesitate. His opposite hand slid around the back of my head and gripped my hair as his mouth descended on me, his lips expertly capturing mine.

An unfamiliar sensation moved through me, something I’d never felt before. But as foreign as it felt, it was beyond enjoyable. That feeling was like being wrapped up in warmth and tenderness.

And when his tongue ran along the seam of my lips, a silent demand for access, I instantly parted them and granted it. Suddenly, warmth and tenderness turned to passion and seduction.

The taste of Forrest, a man who’d been breaking down the very weak rules I’d put into place for my life two months ago, was addictive. I was convinced I could kiss him for the rest of the night, skipping dinner, and I’d be completely sated.

It was that good.

So good, I no longer held back the moans that had been trying to escape since he’d put his hands on me to give me a massage.

I was caught up, lost in him and all that was happening, when he begrudgingly tore his mouth from mine, clenched his fist in my hair, and rested his forehead against mine.

“I’ve been coming to Keystone Mountain Ski Resort for years, Daisy, and not one trip has compared to this one. You’ve been the best surprise I’ve had in a very long time.”

I loved that.

I loved the way those words made me feel.

So, I swallowed past the tightness in my throat and confessed, “This is my first trip here, but I think I’d happily return to this very place every year, if I knew I’d find you waiting for me.”

He let out a sigh, touched his lips to mine in a chaste kiss, and pulled back to look at me. “Maybe we’ll have to make that happen. For now, I’m going to make us dinner.”

I nodded my agreement. “Okay.”

Forrest held my gaze for a moment longer. Then he released his hold on my hair, stood, and carried the melted bag of ice out toward the kitchen.

I wasn’t too proud to admit, I watched his ass as he went.

EIGHT

Forrest

When my eyes shot open this morning, and I realized just how early it was, I should have been upset.

One of the biggest reasons I came on this trip was to not just get a break from work, but it was also to find some time for rest and relaxation.

I was here to recharge.

But it seemed I’d been finding it difficult to get to sleep every night while also being particularly easy to wake up early each morning. I was willing to go out on a limb and say I was getting less sleep now than I would have been getting if I were home.

To top it off, the one thing I’d intended to do a lot of when I got here—snowboarding—seemed to have taken a backseat. I hadn’t done anywhere near as much as I had anticipated.

I’d come on this trip alone, knowing I was a friendly guy who’d have chatted with different people throughout the week while I was out riding or in the lodge. It was safe to say that wasn’t what had happened.

Yet despite all the things I could come up with that was making this vacation seem like anything but, I couldn’t have been happier or more excited about everything before me. It had been the best vacation I’d ever had, by far.

It was all because of her.

Daisy Clark.

From the moment I met her, I tried not to have any expectations about what would happen between us. I would have been completely content simply talking to her and spending the rest of my time on this trip with her.

Of course, that didn’t mean I didn’t want anything to happen. One look at her was enough to have the toughest men struggling to hold themselves back.

But Daisy’s physical beauty, matched with her bright personality and fun-loving disposition, made her impossible to resist.

And her dream?
