Mermae looked at them both. “I love you too. You’ve changed my life totally in one evening. I’m so happy.”

“And our lives from now on will be devoted to keeping you happy forever,” Iain replied, kissing her again.

“Absolutely,” agreed Kade.

Chapter Three

Four Months Later

After a lifetime of having to hide her ability to fly, Mermae absolutely loved having two people who understood her, and her needs. She and Kade went flying most evenings, soaring on the errant breezes, letting the wind lift them and play with them, blowing them wherever it wanted to.

Often Iain would come with them in his wolf form, running along the ground, chasing his tail when they spun in circles, loping after them as they traveled on the air currents. Of course, this meant when it was time for them to land and go home Iain either had to stay in wolf form, and hope he didn’t meet anyone who realized he was a wolf, or else Kade had to bring a shirt and pants for him.

Iain wasn’t a very big wolf, so often he came home in wolf form. If they saw other people, he walked at Kade’s heel like the most obedient of dogs. But it was risky and a few times they’d received some really strange looks, so lately Kade had taken to wearing two shirts and two pairs of pants, with Iain’s shoes shoved down the front of the pants. It wasn’t ideal, but it was much better than someone sending a dogcatcher after them.

Iain was shorter and stockier than Kade, more muscular, and with black hair and eyes so dark a brown they were almost black.

Kade was an even six feet tall, with sandy-brown hair, and light brown eyes. He had the lean build of a runner, and a quick, but gentle wit that he used to defuse any anxieties about their relationship. This meant his clothing was baggy on Iain, and that wasn’t the best solution either.

Mermae adored living with Kade, who could fly, and Iain, who accepted her and Kade’s abilities just as she’d gotten used so easily to the fact that he was a werewolf. She did wish Iain could experience flying for himself, though. He was so very patient and understanding about her needs, but she truly wished that just once, she could take him into the air so he could feel the sheer joy and wonder of floating with the breezes, soaring and falling on the updrafts and downdrafts.

She also found herself wondering what it would be like to run on four legs and to have the heightened senses of sight and sound Iain told her about. At first she’d been adamant he wasn’t to bite her, but more recently she found herself willing to experience a bite.

“Because of your supernatural blood a bite won’t have any effect on you. I’ve bitten Kade plenty of times over the past few years—only when he’s agreed to it, never by force—and as you see, it hasn’t changed him into a werewolf,” said Iain.

“Not only that, I’ve bitten him, too, and he can’t fly,” joked Kade in response.

Mermae sighed. Life would have been much easier if they could just bite each other and then she could play at being a werewolf and Iain could fly. Even just once would be awesome.

Oh well, Halloween was coming soon and she wanted the three of them to do something special for it. Not that she’d been able to think of anything to suggest yet. She’d just have to think harder.

Inside, Iain was a ball of tension and nerves. Every fiber of his wolf-side was demanding he mate for life with Mermae and Kade. Gorgeous, delicious, loveable Mermae. Their perfect soul mate.

Mermae hadn’t wanted to commit to Kade and him instantly, and Iain could understand that. She’d never met anyone who could fly either, and she hadn’t even known werewolves were real, not just a fairy tale, until she’d met him. But they’d been together for four months now, and with Halloween approaching, Iain didn’t think he could bear to wait much longer for them to mate. Every part of him ached to belong fully to his soul mates.

Even fucking was sweet agony for him. He loved the togetherness of it. Touching and being touched by two people was a whole different plane of joy from touching and being touched by one person. But he craved their full bonding, their final mating, so much he was scared his wolf would break out if it didn’t happen soon.

Iain knew Kade was good with the plan, but they hadn’t explained it fully to Mermae, because she’d wanted time and space to get adjusted to them both. Iain hoped like hell she was adjusted, because he was going to have to lay it on the line really soon. He desperately needed them to complete a full bonding and mating ritual or they’d have to lock him in a closet for Halloween week for their own safety.

Kade knew something was bothering Iain, disturbing his usually peaceful nature, and Kade had a feeling it was that Iain was anxious to bond properly with him and Mermae.

Originally, Mermae had asked for three months before they committed to each other, and that time had passed now, so Kade figured it would be fair enough to put the question to her again. He couldn’t imagine her saying no. The three of them fit together so well. That wasn’t to say she didn’t go all girly and shrill on them if they accidently left the toilet seat up in the middle of the night, but basically they were in tune with each other and got on well together with minimal angst.

Once they had formally committed to each other, Kade wanted to suggest they leave the city and move someplace where their “differences” wouldn’t matter. Iain had talked occasionally to two other werewolves, Dwyer and Nelson. Nelson had only been turned a few years ago after he’d mated with Dwyer, and they’d bought a farm a couple hours’ drive from the city. It was quite private and isolated. Nelson was a statistician and he still did projects online from time to time, but mostly they grew a few small but highly profitable crops in large greenhouses. Strawberries and cherries out of season for the luxury market, that kind of thing. Kade reckoned he could do something similar, too. Not steal Dwyer and Nelson’s customers or anything, but adapt that idea to their own skills and talents, maybe.

Anyway, it was much too soon to do anything about his little plan, a lot more thought was needed yet, but likely it was time to move to the next step. Commitment.

Chapter Four

Iain loved being in the middle when they fucked. Any way they made love was good for him, or even when they just lay in bed and cuddled, he was content, but the absolute best sex in his mind was when his cock was buried deep inside Mermae, while Kade was in his ass. The feeling of taking and being taken simultaneously was guaranteed to send him into the highest, hardest orgasms ever.

Mermae’s body was fit and toned, but it was still soft and curvy. He could bury his face in her breasts, breathe her feminine scent deep into his lungs, all the while Kade’s solid weight was plastered to his back, Kade’s hard chest a wall of muscle pressing him down onto the bed, Kade’s sweat dripping hot and salty over both of them.

Tonight he’d taken the lead, needing them both, and now he was surrounded by his family, sandwiched tightly between the two people he loved most in all the world. Right now he was holding still inside Mermae, waiting for Kade to start moving so he could match his lover’s beat.
