"Perfectionism," I echoed, my eyes searching hers as the exchange felt more like a confession than an interview answer. "That's something I also understand all too well."

"Perhaps we could learn from each other, Dr. Harrington," she suggested, her gaze steady and unwavering. The air between us crackled with electricity, and I had to remind myself of the professional boundaries I needed to maintain. I could feel Austin collapse on the sidelines, unable to take the tension anymore.

"Indeed," I agreed, trying to regain control of the situation. "Now, one last question, Calla. What do you hope to achieve during your time here at the medical center?"

"Initially, I will have to learn more about how you work and what the business processes are, but ultimately, I want to contribute to the growth and success of the center while developing my skills and expertise in business management," she replied confidently. "I believe this position is a perfect opportunity for me to do just that."

"Thank you, Calla," I said, feeling the weight of attraction and responsibility battling within me. I looked at Rachel and the boys. They nodded their silent approval. Austin was trying to hold in his laughter. "We'll be in touch soon about our decision."

"Thank you, doctors, and thank you too, Rachel." she nodded toward all of us as she spoke. She stood up and straightened her suit jacket even though it was still sitting perfectly perfect.

"Have a good rest of your day, Calla," I wished her, watching as she left the room, the sway of her hips making it difficult to focus on anything else. But despite the undeniable chemistry between us, I knew I had to put the needs of the medical center first. And if Calla was truly the best candidate for the job, I'd have to find a way to navigate the complicated waters of desire and professionalism.

Rachel stood up. "I'll walk you out." Both ladies walked out, closing the door behind them.

The four of us collapsed together, like a pieces of wood in a firepit.

"Holy fuck!" whispered Austin.

"What are the chances?" Hugo added, his voice low so not to attract outside attention.

"The most outrageous thing is that she is perfect for the job!" Logan whisper-exclaimed, his arms rising in further exclamation.

I hung my head and covered my face with my hands. "Fu-u-u-u-u-u-uck."

Austin started sounding like a sports announcer. "Floppy Dick is seen running off the field, tag teaming Perky Dick. Perky Dick, although sitting on the sidelines for years, looks fresh, and ready to take on the new challenge. The crowd goes wild." He made sounds of a roaring audience.

We all crumpled in laughter. I laid back in my chair and let my head rest on the back.

"Fuck me."

Hugo stood up and patted my shoulder. "If you're a good boy, maybe she will."

"Get the fuck out of this room, you bastards." I smiled as they slowly made their way out of the conference room, teasing me with every step.

I stayed there on the chair for a few extra moments, looking at the ceiling.

What the hell have I gotten myself into?

As I left the conference room, I looked down the hall. Past the reception desk, Rachel was still talking to Calla in the elevator lobby. She must have shown her around the office a bit. I walked toward them. Rachel was saying goodbye and I opened the glass door to poke my head out.

"Calla," I called out, and she turned to face me, surprise flickering in her eyes.

"Dr. Harrington? Is there something else you need to know?" She asked, trying to hide her nervousness.

"Please, call me Dominic," I said, stepping closer. "I wanted to talk to you privately for a moment."

"Alright, Dominic," she replied, dropping the formalities. "What's on your mind?"

I took a deep breath, allowing myself to indulge in our undeniable chemistry for just a moment. "I'll be honest with you, Calla. I'm extremely impressed by your qualifications. Your interview went great. Thanks for coming in. I believe you'd make an excellent addition to our team."

"Thank you," she whispered, her cheeks flushing with a mix of embarrassment and pleasure.

"I just have to ask you," I paused, "Why did you leave like you did the other night? I thought we had something good going there."

She blushed even more. "I'm sorry about that. I guess it's been a while since I've been with someone. I kind of panicked. I wasn't sure if you wanted more. I mean, look at you. You're a doctor, well-established, running a whole amazing clinic, and here I am, just graduated from university. It suddenly felt overwhelming in the morning and… I guess that's how I dealt with it."

I looked down at the floor. Shit, I forgot. She's so young.
