I laugh. “That is one thing I do know about pregnancy. It’s all good. We can continue to have lots of fun.”

Her relief is visible. “Whew. Okay, because I feel really aroused right now.”

Growling, I lean over and nip at the cord of her neck. When I hear my phone ringing across the room, I curse. “Damn. I guess I should get that.” After fishing my phone out of my coat pocket, I check the screen. “It’s Marshall.”

Simona perks up and slides to the end of the couch nearest me.

“Hey, man.”

He cuts right through the chase, as usual. “Pavel got us on the tail of one of the two other people with bounties on them.”

I hit the speaker button and lean a hip on the edge of the couch. “Go ahead. We’re both here.”

“The other jobs posted on BloodWork are for the return or collection of two people, as you know. One male. One female. We located the male. Mako’s picking him up as we speak. He’s going to have a sit down with you both.”

Simona’s fingers go to her mouth. “Where?”

“In England. Not that far from you. His name is Wolf Black. He’s twenty-nine. Get this. He’s in the SAS.”

Nodding in appreciation, I say, “Well, he’s probably able to take care of himself, at least.”

Marshall chuckles. “He’s definitely prepared for almost anything. Oh, and Andre is dropping off this because he’s going to take a security detail for me. Since Scotch, Mako and this SAS guy are going to be with you, Simona, I thought it would be fine.”

Simona’s already off the couch. “Sure, understood. Just say where we need to be.”

Marshall gives us the details and Simona confirms she knows exactly where we are going. Buzzing around the cabin, she makes preparations for us to leave. Putting things away, and smothering the fire. That’s when I remember we don’t have wheels. “How are we getting out of here?”

She glances at me over her shoulder. “Snowmobile, of course.”

“Uh. Okay. Of course.”

Laughing, she tosses me my coat. “Never been on one?”

“Nope. I guess this is a day of firsts. Never been an expecting father, never torn through the Czech countryside on a snowmobile. Who knows what’s about to happen next.”

Josef opens the door with a tight expression on his face. Looking over the top of his glasses, he says, “Well, at least you’re together this time.”

Simona steps into the foyer. I follow her into the tidy cottage. Josef’s definitely eyeing me with suspicion as she hugs him. She says, “We can’t stay. We have to go to England. Just picking up the rental car then off to the airport.”

“Is everything okay?”

“The team found one of them.”

He raises a brow. “That’s good. This should help you figure out more.”

“The snowmobile is in the garage,” I say as I shake the older man’s hand.

“I saw,” he says with a grin. “Lots of surveillance experiments around here.”

He turns to Simona, “Are you feeling alright, dear?”

“Oh. I am. Don’t worry about me, please.”

“I’m glad to see you two are working together again.”

Simona glances at me as she nibbles her lip. “Me too.”

He sees us off and I wonder when Simona will tell the man about the pregnancy. I have a suspicion he’ll be as excited as I am. But I could be wrong.
