“Then to find out you went and got yourself a pack.”

“Forcing us to change plans a hell of a lot earlier than we would have liked,” Kirk says. “And now we’re stuck with a fucking omega.”

“Do you know how much I’ve been enjoying the single life?” Mark growls. “Now, I have to play the good alpha to the public eye.”

“Don’t worry though. You will be our omega on paper only. Your only purpose is to give us an heir. We don’t actually want you at all. I mean, you're cute and all.” He eyes me up and my stomach lurches. “But we have no interest in changing our lifestyle. Not even for you.”

“You're fucking stupid,” Aubrey hisses. “She’s already mated. She has the mate marks to prove it! And two fucking scent matches. This is so fucking illegal, beyond just kidnapping us. It’s against the law to take another pack’s omega if she doesn’t willingly want to.”

“The law doesn’t apply to us, sweetie. We have the power to keep you both on this property for the rest of your lives, without anyone having a single idea where you are. Anything you need, we can easily get. The sooner you realize that the easier this can be.”

“You're going through all this trouble for an omega you don’t even want? There’s literally no point. I offer no value to you.”

“I can think of a few things I could make use of with you.” Kirk chuckles, making my skin crawl.

“Because we can, Little Omega. Because it’s fun. Because there’s nothing you can do about it.” Jared grins and then tosses the bag he has in his hand onto the bed. “Food and water. We’ll be back soon.” He goes to turn away, walks toward the door, and stops halfway. “Oh, and Willow?” He smirks. “Hope you like to party, because tomorrow night we introduce you as our omega.. And before you get any ideas, if you fuck this up.” He points to Aubrey. “I’ll fucking kill her. And I’ll do it with a fucking smile on my face. No one who will be in attendance will be on your side so do yourself a favor and behave.”

He leaves the room, taking his brothers with him, and locking the door behind him. A wave of dread washes over me. “We’re so fucked,” I whimper.

“No, we’re not. Willow. The guys will get us. Please, don’t lose hope.”

“How?” I look at her, the tears finally falling. “They have money, power. How the hell will the guys get anywhere near us to save us?”

“I don’t know,” she whispers. “But we have to believe. Nash and Ledger would never stop until they found us. And I know Dane and Chandler would do the same for you. They love you.”

I want my alphas. I want to be home, in their arms. I miss them and I’m so fucking afraid I’ll never see them again.

I know it could be worse, I have Aubrey with me. And as long as I have her by my side, I’ll survive. I’ll push forward.

Because what else can I do?

Chapter Forty-Four

AUBREY

Those fucking bastards will touch my omega over my dead body. This isn’t saying much since they threatened to kill me already, but that matters little to me as long as Willow is safe. I’m stunned they think they can see an omega, take her, and make her theirs. No questions or consequences, and their dad allows this behavior.

I shouldn’t have let Willow open the door whether she knew them or not. We knew her dad was losing his shit over everything and some random ass pack bringing a gift for Wesley should have set off alarm bells for me.

Never would I tell Willow that, in fact, I just told her the opposite, but she doesn’t need to carry that guilt. I can. It’s my job as her beta to protect her when the alphas are gone and I failed. But I won’t fail her again. Those little shitheads aren’t doing shit to her; they even look at her wrong and I’m ripping their balls from their bodies.

I sit with Willow on the bed, running a hand over her hair humming a popular song I can’t recall the name of at the moment. It’s soothing her though and that’s all that matters right now. She needs to stay calm because the guys are coming, I know they are.

“What do you think they want me to do at this party tonight?” she whispers, sitting up and staring at me.

“My guess would be to parade you around in front of their dad and hoity-toity friends. A new pretty omega for them to flaunt.”

“I don’t think I can let them touch me.” She looks at me with big, sorrowful eyes. “Not even a hug, or kiss. Nothing. I’m sorry. I don’t want you to get hurt, but I don’t know if I can do it.”

“I wouldn’t ever ask you to, Capri. No matter what happens, I’ll be okay. You worry about you. They won’t kill me.”

“But they said…”

“Killing me would make you even less cooperative. They need to keep me alive as their bargaining chip. They can hurt me but they can’t kill me,” I tell her and I mean every word. They can play big and bad, but ending my life would send Willow over the deep end and they’d lose any and all leverage they have.

“I don’t want them to hurt you, Aubrey. My heart beats for you. I love you.” She kisses my cheek and I smile.

“I love you too, Capri, but trust me on this. Worry about yourself, do you hear me? I can live if they hurt me, but hurting you might just kill me.”
