“Again?” Aubrey asks, brows rising. “Is he still hounding you about life updates?”

“Yes,” I sigh. “I want to tell him about my life, about you guys, and all the new things I’m doing— apart from the camming, of course—-but he makes it so hard, and I know he’s not going to approve. I’m even afraid to talk to my other dads because I’m afraid they will tell him, and he’ll… I don’t know, show up here or something.”

“I’m sorry, babe. But you know you have me and the guys. We will support you no matter what you choose to do.”

My heart warms at her words and, ugh. This, when they say things like this, how can I not fall for them?

My phone rings again. I sigh, ready to send it to voicemail again, but when I look at the screen, it’s not my dad’s name, it’s my mom’s. “My mom’s calling me.” It’s not that I don’t talk to my mom. We talked just the other day, but to call right after my dad… that's odd.

“They both called. Maybe it’s something important.”

“Yeah.” I look up at her. “I should answer this.” Pressing the green button, I put the phone to my ear. “Hey, Mom. Everything okay?”

Sniffling sounds from the other end, and I straighten up, on high alert. “No, honey, everything's not okay. Your brother,” she sobs out. “He got into a car accident, someone crossed the center line and hit him head-on. We’re at the hospital waiting to hear from the doctors. He’s back in surgery right now. We don’t know much right now.”

She keeps talking, but I can’t hear her over the ringing in my ears. My stomach drops, and I feel like I’m spiraling.

“Baby, what's wrong?” Aubrey asks, her brow pinching in concern.

“Willow, honey, are you there?”

“Yeah,” my voice cracks. “I’m coming home.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, yes, I’m sure. He’s my brother. I want to be there for him.” Tears start to spill down my cheeks. “I’m so scared, Mom.”

“Me too, honey, me too. But we have to be positive, okay? We need to be for Wesley.”

I nod, even though she can’t see me. “You're right. Keep me updated, please.”

“I will.”

I hang up, and it takes a second before my face is in my hands, a sob ripping from my chest.

Aubrey is sitting next to me in a flash, wrapping her arms around me as I cry. She doesn’t ask me what's wrong, knowing I can’t answer her at the moment, and waits for me to calm down enough to speak.

“I need to go home,” I tell her, wiping at my face as I sniff. “My brother, he got into a car accident. I need to be there.”

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry.”

“I need to get back to my apartment and pack a bag.”

“I’ll take you,” Beth says. I don’t know how long she’s been standing there.

“So will I. Are you okay if I call the guys?” Aubrey asks, her eyes filled with worry.

“Yeah, that's fine.” I nod. I’d like to see them before I go.

We went to my apartment and packed a bag before coming to the pack’s house so I could say goodbye. “I don’t like this.” I hear Nash growl from the living room. “She’s too upset to be driving all that way by herself. One of us should go with her.”

“It’s not our place, Nash. We’re not her pack,” Ledger argues.

“Fuck that! You know damn well she’s more to us than some omega we signed up to fuck during their heat. Don’t lie to me and tell me you don’t feel something more for her.”

“I didn’t say that!” Ledger snaps back. “But until she tells us otherwise, that's what we are to her. Yes, we’re friends, and I believe we’re something more to her than just fuck buddies. But we don’t know exactly what that is.”

“I will not just let her go by herself!” Nash grits out.
