“I hope so.” His voice cracks before he hangs up.

“What's going on?” Chandler demands.

I let out a heavy sigh. “Wesley. He was in a car accident. Willow came back last night, and she was supposed to go visit him today. She hasn’t answered their calls and now they’re worried. He asked if we could go over there and check on her.”

“Oh my god.” Chandler’s face falls. “I hope Wesley is okay.”

“Me too.” I let out a shaky breath. “Let’s go check on our girl.”

“Dane, can we put a pin in your plan?”

“I don’t think we’re going to have to. The moment she opens that door, she’s going to know.”

“Shit,” he hisses. “Maybe we should call Ethan or Matt to go over and check on her.”

“No,” I growl. “We’re going. Now come on.”

I push past him and head out to the truck. Chandler follows me out, getting into the passenger's seat.

“Dane, I don’t think this is a good idea. She’s already dealing with enough, and now she's going to get this bomb dropped on her.”

“Our omega is in pain. She’s upset about her brother. The idea of her home alone, crying, is driving me fucking mad. Chandler, I love you, I really fucking do, but this is our omega. She was meant to be ours. What kind of alphas are we if we allow her to go through life without us?”

“Alright, alright. I just hope everything doesn’t go to shit.”

“Your negativity isn’t needed,” I snap, squeezing the wheel so tight my knuckles turn white.

“I’m not being negative. I’m being rational.”

“That word doesn’t exist when it comes to an alpha with their omega. You’ll see.”

He doesn’t say anything else the rest of the way there. I don’t like fighting with him, but I just don’t understand. Does he not want Willow as our omega?

Maybe once he sees her, it will change his mind.

When we get to the house, I see her car in the driveway. Eagerness to see her fills me, and I’m out of the truck seconds after I put it in park.

“Dane, wait up,” Chandler calls out, hurrying to get to my side as I take long strides to the front door.

“Ready?” After three long years, Willow will finally know she’s ours. I’m not sure how this is going to go or what her reaction will be, but I knew, even though we agreed with Tony not to pursue her, that it wouldn’t last forever. There’s one half of my heart missing. Chandler owns a part, and she’s meant for the other.

He doesn’t say anything, so I knock on the door with three heavy pounds against the wood. Each second that passes by feels like an hour.

“Are you sure she's home?” Chandler questions.

“Her car is in the driveway.”

“Maybe she went for a walk.”

“I’m not waiting to find out.” I bend down and grab the emergency key under the mat, letting myself inside.

“So we’re breaking and entering now,” Chandler mutters incredulously, following me inside.

“We’re not breaking in,” I sigh, looking around for signs of Willow.

“Willow!” Chandler shouts. “Are you here?”

“I’ll check downstairs, you check upstairs,” I tell him, and he nods.
