“Stop looking at her like that or I’m going to have to change all the sheets,” Aubrey scolds him, getting up and shoving the dirty blanket at him. “Speaking of, be a doll and go throw this in the washer, please. And to answer your question, yes, we are done.”

Ledger’s nostrils flare as he looks down at the blanket. “God, this smells so good,” he groans.

“Do not do it,” Aubrey warns him.

“I’m not!” he shoots her a scowl.

“I see the look in your eyes, don’t make this weird. Go put it in the wash.”

“Fine,” he grumbles, his face softening when he looks at me. “Hi, Blowpop.”

“Hi,” I whisper, smiling softly at him.

“Get your sexy ass dressed, we gotta be at the dean’s office in a half hour.”

He leaves and Aubrey goes over to the dresser, pulling out a change of clothes for me. They take such damn good care of me, it makes my heart full.

“What was he going to do with the blanket?” I ask her, pulling myself up into a seated position.

She looks at me over her shoulder with a raised brow. “Baby, your slick– both smell and taste– is like a top-level dessert. And that blanket was soaked in it.”

My eyes widen as my cheeks flush. “You don’t think he would….”

“Knowing Ledger, I wouldn’t put it past him,” she laughs. “Now, let's go get your sexy ass into the shower.”

Ten minutes later, I’m showered and dressed. The only reason that was possible was because Aubrey didn’t join me in the shower so she could go get ready too. Otherwise, we would have gotten lost in our own little world for at least a good hour, making us late for this meeting.

We’re registering as an official pack today. Yesterday, I met up with Beth, breaking the news to her. She wasn’t surprised and was very happy for me. She said she saw it coming even before I did. I thanked her for being so amazing and doing a great job at watching over me while I’ve been here. She said I looked happy and in love and that's all that mattered to her. I won’t forget her and I hope whoever she gets next treats her with respect.

The meeting with the dean goes smoothly. We fill out all the paperwork we need and I officially become a member of Pack Monroe.

It all feels so real now and I can’t keep the smile off my face. Even as I settle onto the couch once we’re back home and pull my phone out.

“Who are you calling?” Nash asks, coming up behind me. He brushes the hair from my forehead and I tilt my head back so he can place a soft kiss on it.

“My mom,” I tell him. “I want to check up on my brother. But I also need to know how much of this Chandler and Dane thing she knows about. Was it just my dad, or did my whole family know?”

He nods. “Do you want me to stay?”

“It’s okay.” I smile. “Go help the others make supper, I’ll be in after I’m done.”

“Okay.” He places a soft kiss on my lips. “I love you, baby.”

“I love you too.”

When he’s gone, I press my mom’s name and bring the phone to my ear. It rings a few times before her sweet voice answers. “Hi, sweetheart!” she says very cheerily.

“Hi, Mom. You sound chipper today.” I laugh.

“I am! Because I have a very good reason to be.”

“Really?” my eyes widen as I sit up. “Is Wesley awake?”

“Not yet, but the doctors said that the swelling in his brain went down and it’s back to normal. All his labs have come back great. His leg is healing well. They plan on bringing him out of the coma next week.”

“That's amazing.” My voice cracks as happy tears fill my eyes. A big weight gets lifted off my shoulders and I bite my lower lip to hold back crying in relief.

“I know. Your dads and I are so happy. They’ve gone back to the house so it’s just me and your brother here. But I don’t mind the time alone and the silence.”
