This is my pack. No matter what happens with Chandler and Dane, I know I’ll be alright.

But, a part of me can’t help wondering what my life would be like if the other two were here, sitting at the kitchen table, laughing and joking alongside us.

Maybe, just maybe that could become a reality. One day at a time. That's all I can do.

Chapter Twenty-Four

DANE

Just because I agreed with Chandler on the whole Willow and her pack bullshit, doesn’t mean I like it.

It took me a long time and a lot of orgasms to settle down enough to really think things through and hear his points.

He’s right. I can’t come in here and start making demands. The reality is, that Willow doesn’t know us, not really. Not in any way other than her fathers’ best friends.

Me coming into her life and demanding she be ours isn’t going to work. No matter how fucking much I wish it would. Stubborn woman.

I’ve already done enough damage at this point by biting her—something I don’t regret doing, except for how it was done— and losing my shit at the compound gate.

I think it’s fucking ironic that I was kicked off of Calling Wood property and now, Chandler and I are heading to the dean’s office to let her know we’re the new owners of the tech company that supports Calling Wood.

Chandler told me to give Willow time, and I’ve agreed, but how is she going to get to know us if we’re back in our hometown? Chandler told me the only way is if we stay here at Calling Wood.

The only way that was possible was if we worked here. So, we made the company who was in charge an offer they couldn’t refuse.

Money means shit to me if I don’t have the people I care for in my life. I think it’s safe to say I’d do just about anything to get my omega in the end.

“You're lucky, I love you,” Chandler mutters as we walk up the steps of the school, gaining a few flirty grins from the girls passing by.

Before I may have winked and made them blush. But now? No one else exists to me. Just Chandler and Willow. They’re the only ones I see.

“Why's that?” I shoot him a smirk.

“Because you convinced me to buy a whole damn company!” he huffs. It’s honestly sexy when he’s annoyed.

“It was the only way to stay on Calling Wood property. If Willow’s life is here in Calling Wood for the foreseeable future, then so is ours.”

“I know,” he sighs. “I know.”

We walk down the halls and eventually find the dean's office. “Hello. How can I help you?” A blonde beta receptionist greets us with a bright, friendly smile, but I don’t miss the way her eyes dip a little in interest at Chandler.

I give her a polite smile, my jaw grinding in irritation and wrap my arm around Chandler’s shoulder. “My partner and I have a meeting with Dean Benson.”

She blinks a few times and nods. “Of course. I’ll go let her know you're here.”

When the lady is gone, Chandler chuckles. “I love it when you're jealous.”

“I didn’t like how she looked at you,” I grumble.

“All she did was smile.” His eyes dance with amusement.

“Yeah, an all too friendly smile. She was probably thinking about riding your dick.” I narrow my eyes at him.

He just grins, shaking his head. “You’re crazy.”

“For you? Always.”

His smile slips into something softer. “I love you, you big dummy.”
